    Atlantic City Casinos/ PA casinos

I thought I could make up a few threads to start off the new B&M venture. Thanks Bryan!!!

For anyone going to Atlantic City from another state (except you Winbig lol) please ask away if you any questions regarding the Tropicana

For PA...Ive been going to Harrahs in Chester quite often and love this place. It's very roomy and offers lots of games plus that new robotic BJ. It looks like a real dealer but its on a screen. Way Cool!!

    just a note

Trump: Nice Hotel but the food sucks. Ive eaten at 3 different places and it was horrible. Fun place to gamble but not to eat

Harrahs: Has the best buffet in Atlantic City

Tropicana: Has the best popular restaurants in Atlantic City. They have Cuba Libre, Carmines, Red Square just to mention a few. They have a tower called Havana, it ls like you 're in Cuba. Very fun and cool Mall. The trop has lots of freebies. They also have an unknown "coupon book" just ask for it at the promotions booth

If you like Poker: The Trop has a nice one but the tajmahal has one of the biggest poker rooms in the USA. The Hilton has a small one on the second floor.

If you like game shows: THe Showboat has Family Fued and the Price is right. They are set up like the real game. You either can get invited if your a regular customer or pay $25 for a ticket.

I was at the Borgata earlier this week and visited their poker room. All I have to say is, IT'S HUGE. They tout it as the largest poker room in AC, and I have to believe them. They have 85 tables if I remember correctly...

They also have a huge range of SnG's running all the time. The lowest stakes I heard announced were $100+20 and the largest was $1000+(?) I played a $100+20 and finished 3rd...too bad they only pay 2 places for the $100+20

They also run $600/$1200 Limit games....insane

I really wish they had a BBJ running, but they don't

They also run Omaha hi/lo games. It's a shame they don't have any Hi only.

    Here ya go Win

Trump Taj Mahal Poker Room Overview:
The Trump Taj Mahal has over 100 tables, making it the biggest poker room in Atlantic City. It’s open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and you can find seven-card stud poker, a few Omaha poker games, and of course, plenty of Texas Hold'em poker games, both limit and no-limit, to sit down and play at anytime.

They have tourney 7 days a week and its the home of the ESPN poker tourny as well. I dont doubt that the Borgata is nice, but the Taj is the biggest on the east coast

Check out www.trumptaj.com and they have the tourny schedule along with the Wagers

    AC and PA Casinos

One thing I've done in the past year was to get The Total Rewards card accepted at Harrahs, Ballys, Ceasars, Showboat and other casinos in Las Vegas. I get all kinds of comps from playing with this card and it's been great. Just got back from comped trip to lake tahoe at harveys.

I mostly stay at the Trop and Hilton. The Hilton has really improved it's variety of slot games, but in general, the casinos in AC have been tight in the slot area. Even the casino personnel have told me this.

I go to harrahs chester a few times a week. Have won jackpots in their high slot area mostly or double/triple diamonds. There's also a very good video slot game there called GetExcited which is very hard to find elsewhere. Last weekend, I took a ride to Delaware Park and slots. I liked Harrahs chester much better. It's a much more inviting, comfortable setting and the sportsbar is great.

I go to the Borgata at least twice a week. Mondays and Wednesdays no limit tournaments are the best games in town. If I need a break, or want to go to the boardwalk, then I head to the Trop. Thursday 10k first place game is good, and usually caps at 200 players.

Harrahs runs a deep stack tournament once a month, but their location is terrible.

Most of the poker dealers in AC play at the Hilton, very nice poker room, but limited number of games. They used to run a 10:00pm no fee $100.00 buy in tournament, not certain if they do anymore.

I won a satellite tournament @ the Hilton, for the NJ State championship in Sept. That should be a good game

Overall for poker players, I would say the Borgata has the best games in town. The Taj used too, but they have a reputation now, for years actually, as the "ghetto" poker room. I have heard many a story of players getting rolled in the bathroom near the poker room. It is right near the exit to the street, so it is easy to rob and run, half drunk poker players

Sands closed down, and in Oct they will be imploding the old building for a new casino, that is owned by the Borgata parent company. That will bring a huge poker room to the boardwalk.

Casino action: I would stick to the "Total rewards" casinos. Like Harrahs, Ceasers, showboat and Ballys. It is hard to get decent comps in AC anymore, at least compared to the good old days, but using a total rewards card, you can carryover your comps to all the casinos owned by Harrahs.

Limits: Borgata is the highest limit place in town. Most days you will be hard pressed to find BJ tables for less then $50.00 minimum. On the flip side, the Hilton has the lowest limits in town, you can usually find a $5.00 BJ table, even on a Sat night.

Check out the water show at the Pier across from Ceasers. Worth the walk.

Trumps places are a shadow of what they used to be. They are constantly "re-inventing" themselves, and IMO they have failed every time. In the early 90's, Trumps places were the best in town, but those days are long over. The Plaza, Marina and the Taj are mostly slot houses, with very little attention, or effort, given to the table games player. If slots are your thing, then Trump is the place to go . I personally don't like slots, so I usually avoid his places.

Entertainment: Borgata. They get top notch gigs. Going there to see Areosmith in Sept

If you are under 50, the shows on the boardwalk are most likely not for you

Atlantic City always was, and still is for the most part, an old folks home with slot machines. The Borgata brought in a younger crowd, and places like the Trop and Ceasers kept up with the competition. The other casinos didn't. They still cater to the busloads of grannies from NYC and Philly, and they neglect everyone else.

    Just my opinion of course!

One thing that I noticed at the Borgata:

If you hold a "premium" card such as diamond, etc.. at other casinos, they will upgrade your status there as well.
