French marketing affiliates wanted for mobile operation

FRENCH AFFILIATES WANTED BY GOLDEN MOBILE

Mobile casino company wants a piece of a burgeoning French market

Gold Mobile Casino has big plans for the French mobile gambling market, and is looking for affiliate marketers to spearhead its efforts, aided by the Income Access affiliate program managers.

The website is making a range of promotional tools available and recruiting professional affiliate marketers who understand the French market and customer.

Targeting France is a smart mobile move - the region is already a hot spot for mobile commerce, with over 9 million users currently accessing the mobile web, and expansion likely to be rapid. The market research firm IDATE has predicted that the French mobile commerce industry will grow to approximately Euro 19 billion by the year after next (2009). With this expansion comes a rapid increase in the number of mobile websites, creating opportunity for mobile operators such as Gold Mobile Casino to build affiliate traffic.

Launched in March 2007, the Gold Mobile Casino WAP affiliate program has over a thousand affiliates on the books, promoting traffic around the world. Affiliates are offered up to 40 percent commissions on all revenues earned, in addition up to a $10 bonus CPA for every referred player.

Gold Mobile Casino, which is owned by a registered Cyprus company called Fimba Enterprises Limited, presents a range of 3 slots, a blackjack game, American Roulette and a Jacks or Better VP offered on what it claims is a proprietary software platform, but we believe to be OGS (Australian firm Online Gaming Systems). There is a Support facility with toll frees for the UK and, interestingly, South Africa.

I thought marketing online casinos/sportbets in France is clearly a breach of French criminal law? Unless this has changed since October, I wouldn't touch this market with a ten foot pole. Just my two Pfennings.

yeah its a weird territory - they are quite strict on control - but there is a challenge to France as there was Italy so it may well open up. And of course, the French speaking market is far wider than just France, so maybe that's as much their goal?

French speaking market or not - France could easily state that you are targeting French citizens. You could argue that France doesn't have a monopoly on the language, but you would be doing that from a jailcell.

Even though there may be changes on the horizon - it's still illegal. I hate seeing affiliate programs throwing their cares to the wind and perhaps putting unknowing webmasters at risk.

Just to reinterate: I had the same problem here. I wanted to launch Casinomeister in German - targeting non-German residents but German speaking people (Austrians, Swiss Germans, expats, etc.). That argument didn't fly. It's still German - targeting German in their (the gov.) eyes.

Julia is on a distinguished road
Hi Everyone,

I'm the affiliate manager for the Gold Mobile affiliate program, thanks for raising this issue.

Just wanted to clarify that Gold Mobile does not accept players from France, in fact they block players with IP addresses and phone numbers from France.

The new French-language site is aimed at targeting other French-speaking markets.

If you have any questions, please don't hestiate to contact us at affiliates@goldmobilecasino.com.

Cheers,

Julia

Thanks Julia. Good to know you're looking after us poor webmasters

But in the same breath, it's extrememly important for webmasters - especially those who have high profiles, to work within the law. No matter what a casino tells you, it is the webmaster's ass that is on the line not theirs.
