Writer in search of a home

I am looking for a gaming site in need of original, relevant articles. I am willing to prove myself as moderator with the eventual goal of a devoted page of my own. I have been active in online gaming since it's earliest beginnings to present and feel there is a definite need for informative, honest and entertaining material. (casinomeister is the exception, but Bryan shut me down!)
Material to include: casino reviews, researched strategy, personal experiences, etc with a humorous approach to keep the reader....well, reading!
I am in the process of expanding my understanding of the dynamics of SEO to better benefit and increase my value to any site.
Any offers? (chirping crickets....) anyone?? (more damn crickets....) awww geez....(sigh)

I'd love to hire a writer.. more so one with your experience. But then it would be more like a share of the profit deal. I was planning on hiring a writer to rewrite texts in proper english, but this can be done quite cheap ( like freelance hire people from india or wherever, with a degree in english).
I'm new to the industry and my site is very new so I hope it's not a silly proposition. If you're interested drop me a line.

Thank you slotmon. Very thoughtful of you to take the time to share your advice. I certainly will apply it if/when the time comes. have a couple recent irons in the fire, at the moment- (but i've been there before, so....)

Have you considered opening a portal of your own? If you enjoy writing and have ideas and humorous stories, you should think about that. it's true that it's much harder to start from scratch, but learning to use Wordpress isn't overly difficult, and if you're learning SEO like you mentioned in your OP, then you've got all the ingredients to start your own site.

I'm not sure how much free time you have to devote to this (because it is a lot, especially in the beginning), but I too enjoy writing and have dabbled with freelance writing in the past until I decided to try my luck at opening my own site.

The first step is always the hardest one... best of luck to you whichever route you take!

Wordpress is easy yes, and everyone claims it to be the best for seo, which for now seems to be true, sure.. even though I have joomla with special seo software which was a pain in the ### to get working properly. But don't you agree with me all those wordpress sites look alike, and don't add anything.. anyhow I really hope google quickly releases a panda with a pair of eyes. And I have high hopes joomla 1.7 will be a big step forward.

sigh.. trying my best not to start some kind of forum war, so let me add this: It wasn't intended directly at you or your site, more like for those new people out there starting with wordpress.

Have you thought about working for online newspapers and do your own gambling/gaming section, talking about the highs and lows of gambling?

You could use start up money for interviews with other regional gamblers or top gamblers in your province/state.

You could talk about your favorite casino games and what makes them fun to play, and the serious sides to them.

It's not an easy path to make money, but the best writers do stand out.
