As for the rules, I kind of like them the way they are. It's pretty simple - when you complain, make sure you are tactful and show respect, and contact the people who can do something about it. That goes for any sort of complaining - whether you're at Walmart, Boots, your florist, or here in the forum.

I don't like stymieing members' voices by disabling their ability to post in the complaints forum. We've done this before for newbies (two or three times) and it doesn't work. They will just post elsewhere. The complaints section is not a soapbox, but a tool to assist members to solve problems. I think some newbies are actually surprised by the results they get when they start a (legitimate) thread there. There a many people besides me and the mods who can help.
Bryan- thanks for your perspective. While you were gone we had the "neg rep vs report" thread and bottom line, that's what I will do.

I respect what you have built and provided for us here. It is an awesome site. But people are people (after a career in Human Resources and Counseling - I KNOW that better than most) and sometimes to use Jod's word they get "snarky". I was hitting overload with the people who seemed to join the foruma and then their very first post was slamming some casino when the screw up was most often them not know the rules and ropes.

That's why I did the post on "Things I wish I would have known....."

My position going forward is to share Info and experiences and stay above the fray. If something is offensive I will report it to you/Max and let you deal with it as you see fit.

Welcome back!
