Thanks for this thread. I always appreciate it when members make suggestions for changes instead of slinking off into the background - brooding in some corner.
As for the rules, I kind of like them the way they are. It's pretty simple - when you complain, make sure you are tactful and show respect, and contact the people who can do something about it. That goes for any sort of complaining - whether you're at Walmart, Boots, your florist, or here in the forum.
I don't like stymieing members' voices by disabling their ability to post in the complaints forum. We've done this before for newbies (two or three times) and it doesn't work. They will just post elsewhere. The complaints section is not a soapbox, but a tool to assist members to solve problems. I think some newbies are actually surprised by the results they get when they start a (legitimate) thread there. There a many people besides me and the mods who can help.
