Showing revision dates on Terms and Conditions

The onus to check Terms and Conditions (aka Terms of Use, Terms of Service, Rules and Regulations, etc) is on the player. Most of us take the time to read them when joining a casino.

The onus is also on us to review these from time to time. Some casinos specify how frequently, and to the best of my knowledge, none notify players.

The date of issue for any Terms should be clearly shown at either the top of the Terms, or the bottom, or both.

This would allow players to know if they hard previously read and agreed to these terms or not. It is unrealistic and unfair for casinos to expect players to read and pick up on any changes if they have no idea if they are looking for any changes.

I appreciate the casinos that do include the date in their Terms, and I think it should be mandatory for the Casinos that are worthy of accreditation here.

This is an interesting point raised by Jasminebed. With most other financial institutions such as banks, they will always email you the new terms and conditions, no matter how small or insignificant the update is.

Ideally I would like to see this happen preferably on the casino login page where play can only commence once the "I have read the revised T&C's" box is checked. A bit like when you first download the software.

Recently I encountered this scenario on my login page for online banking, I couldn't be bothered to actually read the new terms in full, just skimmed it, but I had to tick it in order to log in. An acceptance that I had acknowledged the new T&C's.

From what I've seen, several of the reputable sites show the revision date on their T&C page. IMO, all casinos should do this.

For those that don't, there's actually a site (free) you can use to monitor specific pages, and they'll alert you via email whenever a change is made: http://www.watchthatpage.com/.

Could not agree more. I don't think we will see casinos emailing us of changes. Players that opt-out of mailings might not receive them. But pop-up or banner asking us to review the new terms and conditions would be great. A check box as Wildfire suggested would be even better. If a player checks the box without reading, than that is his/her fault should a problem arise.

There is many programs which allow to monitor given Web pages and show when content was changed. Just use it.
