Exclamation Giving Thanks - the right way to do it and the wrong way

    Hi all,

Just an admin reminder about giving "Thanks". There is a right way to do it, and a wrong way.

We have this enabled on the board to you can show appreciation to your fellow members when they make good, informative, helpful posts. You "thank" them.
    http://www.casinomeister.com/forums/thanks.php

This is the right way to do it. Now I know many members use this as an "I Agree" button, well that's fine too. But please bear in mind what you are agreeing with. If the person is making a statement that you agree with, well by all means give him/her a cyber "high-five" with the "Thanks" button.

But if a person is ragging on another member, I would suggest NOT "high fiving" this member because this is "mobbing" and is totally uncool.

Imagine being in a room with the members of the forum. Someone makes a comment directed at you stating "You have no idea what you're talking about. You're a moron - get a life." and people start high-fiving this member - how would you feel?

This is not something you'd do in person; please don't do it in the forum.

In essence, use some discretion when thanking your fellow members.

    Thanks!

I am prolly the most guilty of all, but with good intentions, i might add, if someone responds to a thread i have posted where i needed answers, i always thank them, just good manners on my part, so i thought, even when i may not agree on what they have posted, they took the time to answer and to me imo, deserves a thanks.

I also agree that sometimes it is used in mean spirits, and that would be wrong and high schoolish, after all we are adults here and should behave as such, sometimes tempers get flaired and we side with one over the other, who has posted something we may feel strongly about.

From now on i will make it a point to use restaint when thanking, folks that answer my threads ,as i can see how this could get out of hand, i will continue to use good manners and post a ...................laurie

I am the same way. I thank anyone who takes the time to contribute to a thread I started, but I see CMs point about "piling on"

I took Bryans post differently. I took it as if someone says something "mean spirited" about another poster and 10 people thank that poster who said the mean thing, that is the WRONG way to use the thank you button.

But if a person is ragging on another member, I would suggest NOT "high fiving" this member because this is "mobbing" and is totally uncool.

    JUST A LITTLE THOUGHT

    Maybe one day...a special day...
the day that we will thank each other and forgive each other from the bottom of our hearts..
maybe will be the day of a great salvation. Not just for the gamblers forum but for the whole mankind.

    JUST A LITTLE THOUGHT.
