New Social Group Functions

Hi All,

We're running the latest version of vBulletin now, and one of the things that has been remarkably improved is the Social Group function.

Social groups can be public or private. Senior members and above can create their own groups. For public groups, anyone can join - private groups are invite only.

I've set up some categories to get things started: Esoteric, Techno, Leisure, and Dark Secrets (private groups). If you have any other categories in mind, shoot them by me and perhaps they'll get added.

Some changes: You may now create threads (discussions) within your social group. Before this, it was rather lame - just one continuous thread. Now it works like a forum. Also posts within are listed just like in the rest of the forum with the oldest on top. It's also searchable.

During the upgrade, the current social groups were imported into the new template which required an icon (to represent the S.G). I had to upload some on my own - Social Group owners can change these at your earliest convience if you wish to do so.

Final note - the Social Groups can be a fantastic tool - and it goes to show we have other things to talk about besides gambling. Let's use these tools wisely.

I get this message in our social group when I chose quick reply

and it doesn't post my message, but when I go to advanced posting, my message is displayed.

Don't use "Quick reply"
