    land-based section discriminatory!

europe, asia, us?? doesn't follow the pattern and marginalizes the canadian casinos. i am incensed and irate and infuriated at this injustice. i know america seems to have control over us, and i know pina's gone from here, but canada really still exists. please adjust it to be a north american section.

Sorry for my ethocentric tunnel vision. I'll make it N. America to include Mexico.

    There are casinos in Canada?

yes. could be only in ontario (the bit above detroit and buffalo), but yes we have some. beautiful niagara falls boasts a pair (of casinos), and there are some smaller ones (casinos) around as well. thanks! (and i wasn't really incensed)

They are across Canada. Most provinces have them but I don't think New Brunswick does.

Casinos are illegal in Mexico. They have been and it's been an ongoing debate for years to legalize them. The only thing close is the Caliente Sportsbooks which are in most border towns. I thought I would point that out lol.

We have 2 casinos here in Nova Scotia.
One in Halifax and the other in Sydney.
I've been in the Sydney one twice in the past 3 years and that was to eat at the All Star Grill.

There's at least one in Montréal too. I've never been in it but I remember passing it during a trip up there some years ago.

I live in Alberta, close to Calgary. They have 6 casinos and are going to have an Indian casino on the t'su t'ina reserve within months I believe. As an aside, 21 years ago I worked in Calgary as a blackjack dealer. Cool job, but I gave it up to raise my boys.
There are casinos thoughout this province, Red Deer, Edmonton, Lethbridge and Medicine Hat to name a few. We ar big gamblers inthe west lol.
Also, interesting fact, Calgary is the only city that still allows smoking in the casinos. That may change on January 1, 2008 but don't bet on it. Indian casinos usually allow smoking as well. They are on reserve land and not subject to certain regulations. All Alberta casinos are run to support charities,(except Indian casinos) and at the end of the year profits are pooled and equally distributed to the charities that hosted casinos. Charities send volunteers to work certain jobs in casino, (chip runners etc.) and they reap the rewards for their hard work and dedication.
I am not sure, but are USA casinos run strictly for profit? Or do they support charities?

Sorry, not true. There are many many slot casinos(joints) through out Mexico. There are at least 4 that I know of in Juarez, Mx. I also heard that the Gov. legalized casinos but no vegas style have opened as of yet although some are on the drawing board.
