A question about UK High Street Casinos vs seaside resort casinos

For years this has bugged me I wonder if anyone can clear this up:

Before the internet I used to regualrly goto high street casinos and when I went on holiday to Devon would play in the seaside casinos now in the home town high street casino I would mostly play Golden Game (sadly a rarety in the high street these days and only available on Sky Vegas a rubbish version which has none of the tricks the physical one had) I knew exactly how to work this slot in my hometown casinos I knew all the tricks to making the golden game appear etc, but when I played slots in the seaside casinos I found I barely won a thing on the similar machines.

I wondered are the slots fixed at seaside resorts because the clientelle are only there for a week and go home and the ones in big towns need a regular client base so payout better or was I always unlucky.

They are all "rigged", but I think at the seaside the arcades are even more tight than city centre ones.

At the seaside there are plenty of local "sharks" that know exactly when a machine is "due" and will wait patiently whilst the holidaymakers fill them up for them

Same in the towns - I was one of them

We had a 70+ machine complex open in the early 90's, stocked with some of the most "doable" machines there were.

It is still there, but there are very few machines now. The machine area was changed into a Pizza place, and a small number of machines were relocated to the bar.

Motorway services are also places where you get "sharks", but the RTP is low like the seaside. Town arcades tend to have higher RTP settings to keep the regulars interested.

When my local one first opened, the settings were VERY high, over 80% on most machines. One row was 98%, a bit of a mistake because they always got emptied.

    Back to port for unloading.
