Leading on from my earlier advice...
The best kind of table 'persona' to maintain is, in my genuinely honest opinion, 'tight-aggressive'.
That is, raising pre-flop with good to top hands as I've said, and then continuing to bet. You want to continually put pressure on the other players; don't give them breathing space, and if you suspect they are trying to draw cards (like, they need a card or two for a straight or a flush, for instance) then make them pay for them! Don't check/call small with a good hand, because as I said previously; you'll allow weaker hands to draw free cards.
Continuation betting might see the other players fold at the flop or turn, making you a decent pot - you may think that you could've got a bigger pot by checking and allowing more bets on the river (and in fairness, there are times when you WILL), but there's nothing worse than having a great hand, slow-playing it, and then some donk pulls a straight on the river having called and checked with 4/6 off-suit or something equally stupid.
Also - there are times when you just KNOW your AA, AK, KK etc is well and truly beaten. Don't be afraid to lay it down; these hands are not invincible.
