    CardSpike to Close

We are contacting you to confirm that Cardspike.com will be shutting down all operations effective May 31, 2009. Deposits will no longer be accepted into your account effective immediately. You can cash out your account at any time before May 31, 2009 by your preferred method. After May 31, 2009, your account will be cashed out and the balance remitted to you via the method you used to deposit. Thank you for your past support. Sincerely, Cardspike.com Management. *Note – The minimum withdrawal amount is $50. In light of these circumstances we can manually process a withdrawal for less than $50 but there will be a processing fee of $40.
The above has been posted in several forums. It was an email sent to players. The last sentence is just ridiculous. In other words "We are going to steal from every player that has less than $50 in their account."

So they won't accept deposits, but the sign up form is still available on their website. Casinos I remember closing in the past updated their website at the same time that players were informed.

So, what happens if a US player deposited via MC/Visa? How are they going to pay them if they insist on paying back via the way they deposited?

CardSpike's departure is in character with its introduction imo - deceitful and lacking in integrity.

    Good riddance.

Spot on. There should be a APB put out on these operators to find out what their next planned tour de farce is.

I have not missed the fact that they have even denied players any notice, since if there were notice, players could deposit to bring their balance up to $50, and then be able to cash out all of it. If play is still allowed, given the close date of 31st May, players can at least try to ensure that any dregs below $50 go to other players, and are not swallowed by Cardspike upon closure.

Yes, it's better to give it to another player than to rippoff site.
