    Smokin' new poker room!

BONG POKER SITE HAS AN UNUSUAL TARGET MARKET

Reefer Poker.com joins the Merge network

Recently launched Reefer Poker.com has an unusual target audience in mind (or out of it!) which becomes apparent on visiting the website, redolent with marijuana plants, the occasional expletive and comments on the bong culture.

The head of Reefer's affiliate program, Gian Perroni says about the owners: "So far, they've shown us that marijuana culture runs deep with many poker players. We expect affiliates to find a whole new crowd to convert."

The new site is powered by the Merge network, which according to the latest online poker traffic stats on Pokerscout.com is 20th on the list, just below Betfair Poker and boasting 417 cash players, a 24 hour peak of 696 concurrent players and a 7 day average of 385 players.

The owners of the website remain shadowy figures with little information available. They claim that Reefer and Poker go together because: "Our creators love both playing poker and the marijuana culture. Pot enthusiasts are a different breed. We are relaxed, we analyze, we like to have fun."

They're hoping to create a community of like-minded people, and offer free prizes like vaporisers, bongs, and reefer cash - where legal. "Reefer Poker does not condone or encourage illegal drug use by any person. We understand that in some uninformed countries the use of marijuana by adults is unfortunately still considered to be illegal. Please follow the laws in your jurisdiction," the website cautions!

This is just the thing that will convince the US to legalize online gambling.

I am not going to lie.. I saw this at CANAFFCO's booth in
London and loved it... but then a friend reminded me it
is not legal in some places to advertise the actual "leaf",
so I am not sure how that will work out.

In any case I wish the US would legalize both MJ and online gambling..
Too bad they love to legislate morality and hate money too much to do that.

Can't say I really get this myself. Never touched drugs admittedly, but it strikes me as an odd angle. I suppose the thought is it will attract the social drug crowd who can socialise and feel at home? I never fully understood this typoe of marketing - I mean, I love soccer, but I wouldn't just go sign up at a poker room called "Soccer Poker" because of that.

But it'll drag the righteous deep South out of bed and give them a(nother) excuse to rant I guess

Here's a great campaign poster to legalize MJ in the USA:

Operators: If you don't know what Transparency means, then here you go.....now how about practicing it?

Transparency, as used in the humanities and in a social context more generally, implies openness, communication, and accountability. It is a metaphorical extension of the meaning a "transparent" object is one that can be seen through. ...

I down loaded Reefer Poker last week. It's a Poker.com skin. I set up a brand new yahoo email address to sign up at Reefer. I didnt use the email address for any thing else. Three days later my email was loaded with over 40 spam emails. Looks like Reefer Poker may have sold my email address to spam companys. If they did sell my email address it makes you wonder what other personal information they might be willing to sell.

I've seen reports of Walker Poker (also on the Merge network) spamming boards too. Pity: Merge has good software and a lot of potential.
