POKERSTARS RELEASES WCOOP SCHEDULE

Full program of onbline poker for September

The largest of the online poker sites, Poker Stars.com has released its schedule for the upcoming World Championship of Online Poker which starts in September.

This year there will be more events with bigger prize guarantees than previous years. In all there are 23 events on the planning board which will involve a combined total of around $15 million in guaranteed prize-pools. The changes represent an additional five events a boost of $5 million to the prize-pool guarantee.

The additions include Five-Card Draw and 2-7 Triple Draw. The No-Limit Hold'em Triple Shootout returns this year, good news to the many online players who lamented its ommission from the 2006 schedule.

No-Limit Hold'em remains the main event, with a guaranteed $5 million guranteed prize pool backing player who will ante up $2 600 for the buy-in.

According to PokerStars.com, in 2002 player "MultiMarine" of Sweden won the main event for $65 450. In 2004 "Ragde"was rewarded with a $424 945 payday for his main event victory, and in 2005 "Panella86" received $577 342 for the big main event prize. Last year saw poker ace JC Tran winning over $600 000 for taking the 2006 main event.

The 2007 schedule of events runs from September 14 through September 30 and features a wide range of poker game styles from Texas Hold'Em to H.O.R.S.E. to suit every taste. Full details are available on the Pokerstars.com website.
