Grand finish for FTOPS III

WEEKEND ONLINE POKER ACTION CONTINUES TO IMPRESS

FTOPS III closes in style with $4.4 million in prizemoney distributed

Enhancing the weekend online tournament action this week, the ten day, 10 event Full Tilt Online Poker Series III steamed past its guaranteed $3.4 million in total prize money by a comfortable extra million following strong popular support for all events, and never fell below the guarantee level, with event 7 actually overtaking the guaranteed mark by a factor of four.

Crowning another highly successful series thoroughly enjoyed by players was the $1.5 million guaranteed no limit Texas Hold Em main event, which attracted 3 217 entrants. These gamblers paid $500 + $35 each to get a crack at the prizepool of $1 608 500, which made the winner a happy player and ensured that 459 other pokerheads were in the money bubble. The top 15 players all achieved five figure payouts in one of the best series yet.

The winner was ultimately player 'traheho' who picked up the winner's check of $288 001.93 after an intense five hand final heads up confrontation with runner up 'Boosted J' The latter's second place check of $175 326.50 no doubt eased the pain of losing.

Over on the record breaking Poker Stars.com site the Sunday Million ended with a five-player agreement after 6 637 registered to generate a prizepool of $1 327 400, giving some 900 players a return on their buy-in fees.

Winner of the day was 'Charlie Braun' who received less than the projected $190 880 main prize following a five-player agreement on the final table. This left Charlie with a main prize of $136 006, and the four runner-ups with five figure payouts all well over $60 000

Party Poker.com enjoyed another great attendance for its boosted $300 000 Guaranteed event, with 1 516 players ensuring that the guarantee was overtaken by $3 200, giving a winner payout of $60 640 which was eventually taken by Swedish player XX_GALTEN_XX. Some 200 players were 'in the money' and Party will be pleased with the growth in their action. The second placed 'goddi3' went home with $33 352.

858 players signed up for this week's Ultimate Bet $200 000 Guaranteed, each making a $200+$15 contribution to a prizepool that put 200 entrants in the money and gave the winner, 'highroller48' $45 000. Second placed 'aakkjj' collected $27 000.
