Absolute Poker Retroactively Changes Bonus Terms

The poker community is in an uproar as Absolute Poker decided to change the terms not just on new bonuses but on bonuses players were in the middle of clearing. Absolute offers bonuses several days a week and has made it no secret in the past that bonus whores are welcome there. The new bonus structure is 2-3 times worse for players.

Most players found out by forums that the bonus has changed as Absolute did not even bother to notify players. Affiliates also were not notified to change their promotional materials. The software still shows the old bonus terms and the skin's websites show the old terms as well. It is only noticable if you pay close attention to your play or dig into the T&C's on Absolute's website.

Absolute has pulled the classic bait and switch here and they are losing endless players over this. This weekend they offered 4 days of bonuses totally $1600 just to switch the terms once players started clearing the bonuses. Some players stack bonuses almost any chance they get. It seems they can no longer use their motto:

To continue to be the best and most trusted
If Absolute does not honor their existing agreements with players there is no way the poker community will ever trust them again.

If the software still shows the old bonus terms and only their website shows the new, and they try and enforce the new...well, they need to be rogued asap!! What a crock...
Operators: If you don't know what Transparency means, then here you go.....now how about practicing it?

Transparency, as used in the humanities and in a social context more generally, implies openness, communication, and accountability. It is a metaphorical extension of the meaning a "transparent" object is one that can be seen through. ...

If you hover over the bonus in the software you will see the old terms as well as in the help files. On the skins the websites have not been updated at all. You would only know you were getting screwed if you watched your points hand by hand and noticed how much slower they were. It's a really backdoor nasty way to hide a bonus change. Hoping players don't notice is not a way to be "The most trusted".
