Poker Affiliate Crooks

I'm new to this forum so If i'm putting this in the wrong section kindly let me know. I also posted a like thread in the casino section because this matter has to do with both.

I'm very surprised not to see a lot more information on the internet about crooked poker affiliate programs, I would think all the watchdog sites would have a special section for it like they do for the good and bad player poker rooms.

From my own experiene it seems that some very big poker sites might be on the up and up with their playing customers and receive a good rating from the watch dog sites but at the same time be doing a real job on their affiliates that helped make them as big as the are.

The affiliate has no control or say so in rakeback deals or anything else unless he or she out and out lies in their marketing.

As far as spamming goes there's good and bad in every form of life, the bad guys should choke and the good guys should succeed but all to many times it's the crooks and bad guys that come out on top, but they usually end up getting their just due when they least expect it.

The only form of marketing I do myself is pay per click search engines like google etc.

The affiliate certainly has some control over rakeback. Not all rakeback is automatically paid by the poker room and those that are not automatic can easily run off with the player's rakeback if they wish. Most don't since it is an investment in their future business and reputation. Some get greedy though. Some affiliates offer rakeback at sites that do not approve of it (Party, Pacific and Paradise come to mind) and are either scammers with no intention to pay or playing with fire with their affiliate accounts.

i was under the impression that you cant rakeback at these sites (apart from the fact that its against the rules) because they dont support player tracking so an affiliate cant calculate any rakeback anyway.

on the subject of rakeback, can someone answer a question regarding tribeca.

i know they dont advocate rakeback and affiliates are banned from advertising it, but is it allowed ?

having a look at few forums, the answer seems to range from, its totally banned to it is still allowed, however you are not allowed to advertise it.

so what is the official position of tribeca on this ?

Rakeback offered by affiliates is a grey area. I would never entertain it. The only incentive I offer to players is freerolls, which are run by the poker rooms I affiliate with.

Tribeca does not allow it to be advertised and anyone offering it is in the grey area for sure. Those who received Doyle's Room rakeback up until the cutoff are grandfathered in.

Of the three rooms I mentioned only one has tracking issues, the other two are against it too and anyone offering it is risking having their entire affiliate program shutdown. For most affiliates that is enough of a threat to follow the rules.

Rakeback is a very controversial topic. Many rooms openly allow it, pay it automatically and like it, other rooms will tell you one thing and mean another and some are just 100% against it and mean it. Non rakeback affiliates, for the most part, hate it unless it is given to every player in the way of an automatic rakeback like many Tain skins do, or unless it is in the form of a VIP program like PokerStars, or a cashback like B2B does.
