Its a fact, Playing poker in Washington its a crime

    http://www.gambling911.com/050806Bnews.html

Ok, so now is true.. you get caught by the goverment playing a friendly poker game in your house at 2 am and be careful.. Watch your front door and windows because police might raid your house looking for a criminal.

So they let it happen, I see this cancer spreading through America now.

Its sad no one stood up in Washington, probably noone won't in the rest of the country...

The funny thing is .. how is the goverment going to prevent this??

So now they are going to spend THE AMERICAN PEOPLE money on technology to trace which sites you visit. They are going to spend money on tracking your bank transactions, plus they are going to spend money to make sure you are "safe" from the gambing industry... What a bunch of crap.

So apparently the Washington state believes is more important to spend millions of dollars and probably increase taxes on "THE WAR ON ONLINE GAMBLING" instead of feeding the poor, creating job opportunities and helping out the homeless..

THE HELL WITH THAT.. Right Uncle Sam?? Who gives a shit about those things... WE HAVE TO FIGHT ONLINE GAMBLING... ITS A PRIORITY TO KEEP AMERICA SAFE FROM THIS CRIMINALS... LETS HAVE THE HUNGRY AND HOMELESS WAIT SOME MORE WINTERS.. of course, if they have survived several, they can take another one.

Think about it, your money and future taxes is going again in to a stupid noneless war, just like the War on drugs, which has caused nothing but tons of dead people, better labs and more people smoking crack...

    Bunch of ....

    jajaja

Tough guy on the forum.. .I would like to see the type of moron you are.

Never the less, I believe that being a Costa Rican citizen is great, plus it happens that my country is house for probably more than 50% of the gambling industry...

If you are ok with these laws, what the hell are you doing at a gambling site??

The other thing is.. My country has tons of problems.. Most of our governors are f@%@ thieves... Our roads suck... we get paid crap... and we have an oil company, in which your so beloved president has tons of stock, trying to destroy our coasts and marine life in order to send it up to your country and bring it back here and sale it to whatever price they want... Its a shithole, but our country has never runned programs or forbidden us to spend our money on what ever the helll we want. Of course except drugs, weapons or stuff like that. Gambling is serious in our country, a lot of people have severe problems gambling but the goverment knows its any adult's choice what they do with their money.

Another good thing is that we are not rich... But the little money we have we do not spended on illegal phone interventions, sending our citizens to kill inocent people to middle east (however our former president supported the USA with the Iraq issue, what a moron) or our goverment will waste time on stupid issues like yours is doing and will focus more on trying to improve medicine, studies and getting people out of the streets. They don't have much success.. but at least they try. Here when ever some one is sick, every hospital will make the best to help that person ... Even your citizens when come here and get so high and lost in our beatiful mountains we help them out and invest tons of money in helping them, other than monitoring and controlling the live style of every Tico.

Other than that, I believe freedom of speach and democracy are enjoyed more in my country now days than in yours...

    Pura vida mi hermanito...

Watchdog--I understand you believe you are someone who has a far greater knowledge on online gambling than most of us mere mortals, however, your lack of knowledge is starting to show.

While Costa Rica is indeed a hot spot for online gambling sites, I would challenge you on your "more than 50% of the gambling industry" bit. Yes, without question sportsbooks are fertile throughout Costa Rica, the truth is that the percentage of casinos and poker rooms in Costa Rica are comparatively low. The fact that Costa Rica does not issue gaming licenses has become unattractive for casinos who are looking to establish a solid, positive reputation. This is not to say that there aren't some truly great casinos in CR--it is just that these casinos have risen to the challenge.

As far as your obvious disgust towards America, you should know that not all Americans agree with out government. We certainly have our problems--we don't need you telling us this. You'd be surprised how smart most of us are...we really CAN see that things are not perfect, without you pointing it out.

perhaps you should re-read his post with an open mind.......i don't think he has shown any disrespect towards America or Americans, unless you feel it's un-American to criticize King George.

This thread began as a protest to the state of Washington and its hypocritical new gambling law. I hardly think criticizing ignorant lawmakers and the waste of taxpayer money qualifies as contempt for America.

    tennis_balls--

I believe we probably have similar views on the US. I'm absolutely angry at the direction this country has taken. Further, my very livelihood depends on this industry and so obviously, I'm quite concerned over anything affecting online gambling.

I also am incredibly open-minded. I'm empathetic and understanding of the views people from other countries have towards the US and more often than not, I'm in full agreement. In fact, I don't necessarily disagree with Watchdog's views on US policies.

I should be brutally honest here...

For me, this has more to do with presentation and personality. I absolutely acknowledge and understand that this may be unfair, but every now and then, we all come across someone who pushes those buttons. Without going into any sort of character attacks, I will say that there have been things Watchdog has posted, along with a not-so-friendly PM to me, that have my antennae on alert.

Be that as it may, I do apologize if I've been unfair in my assessment.

This is the Poker forum, people, not the War Room.

Let's try and keep things on topic. Take the political talk elsewhere.

    True

I am not here to fight.. the subject was poker is a fellony..

Sorry if that guy Paul was deeply affected by my comments.. I wil try not attack his moral and sensitive american pride. I don't have nothing against americans, I do not agree on a lot of things your goverment do things, however so as tons of other nations..

Regarding gambling in Costa Rica, I was referring to the online gambling industry.. .our land based industry is nothing compared to some other countries like US, Spain or even Panama....

I don't know if Paul was the one mentioning something about how some ethnic group in the states was trash and other attacks to some other ethnic groups, I can guarantee you I have no racial, religous or political prejudices...

However I still believe your goverment is doing wrong regarding this laws and the attitude taken towards the Antigua Barbuda issue.

Watchdog has a point in regards to this BS Law...
All of America needs to wake up and smell the coffee because we're sinking and have been for decades.
I'm also trying to make a decent buck promoting Online Casinos, Sportsbooks, Online Poker Rooms and Bingo.
When any anti-gambling law comes out it affects all of us in the industry.
