Bad experience at Party Poker and Empire

I have been playing on line for about a year. Mainly on Party Poker and Poker Stars. In January Party Poker closed my account with a little over $1,000 in it. They directed me to their Customer Support. I was told that they had detected the use of an illegal device that gave me an unfair advantage.

I explained to them that I did buy the software for a program called Texas Calculatem. It is supposed to figure the drawing odds on a hand. I did try it once on Party and it did NOT work. Any intermediate player knows that knowing the correct odds is only one factor in determining how to play a hand. I had several e-mails back and forth with Party and even spoke to a representative at length. The fact is that EVERY hand I ever played on Party Poker I made all decisions wholly on my own.

I reminded him that I had been a losing player for a couple of months, almost $6,000 behind. So what advantage did I have. To no avail. Finally, in desperation I said okay you want to close my account fine. Just send me back my money. No response and no money was ever forthcoming. And no recourse anywhere.

Now the worst part is that I began playing on Empire, mostly Sit 'n Go tournaments. I had played there regularly for a few months, until last week when the same thing happened. I was locked out of my account. When I contacted their support people, they were not responsive. The Texas Calculatem program I had, has long since been deleted from my desktop. I did not want any further problems because of it.

The Empire people have offered me NO reason thus far for closing my account, with over $900 in it. I feel like I have been robbed. All I ever did was play poker on these sites, nothing more, nothing less. I won, I lost like a lot of players. Nothing noteworthy either way.

I am left with a very bad taste in my mouth regarding online poker. They have driven me back to the B & M casinos. I have and will continue to tell people about my bad experience with these two sites.

How strange, as far as I know there is no problem using texas calculatem with online poker rooms. And most certainly not with Party Poker since the company behind texas calculatem has an affiliate deal with Party Poker. If you open a party account trough the calculatem website you get the program for free (because of the shared revenue or CPA calculatem gets on you)

I suspect that the reason for your closed account is not because of this program, are you sure you don't have any other things running on your pc that interfere with the poker software?

This may have something to do with multiple accounts, Empire and Party are different firms but I think they are back together again as a poker network.

If you were banned from Party they also run the backend for Empire so you and your payment method (Neteller etc) were also flagged. The problem is that their support is about the worst in the industry so you are up against a brock wall. If you call them you might have some luck getting a supervisor if you go through enough channels.

Once again, my accounts were closed at Party and Empire. I may have had many programs on my desktop, including several other poker sites.

The fact is that nothing I had on my desktop was used in any way, shape or form to assist me in playing on Party or Empire. Every hand I played and every decision I made was mine and mine alone.

If you want to read something more into this, that is your decision. I only posted here as a warning to others that these sites are not secure and you may have a problem with them. And if you do, you have no recourse anywhere.

All I ever wanted from Party or Empire is for them to send back my remaining money. So far that has not happened and they will not even respond to my communications.

At this point in time, I will support any legislation to block these sites in the U.S. They are a little too heavy handed in their enforcment for me.

And you're making this decision based on one site? Gimme a break.
