FTOPS 5 main event decided

BIG MONEY IN FTOPS MAIN EVENT

$395 905.44 payday for CrazyZachary

The fifth Full Tilt Online Poker festival ended with a big splash of cash over the weekend as the winner of the Main Event was decided. Player CrazyZachary was the man in the money with a spectacular main prize of $395 905.44.

Sunday was the peak day for FTOPS 5 as over $3.8 million dollars changed hands between the final two events. Event 12, hosted by international poker ace Phil Ivey, was Full Tilt's first ever two-day event and its $2 620 buy-in was the biggest yet for the FTP series.

WSOP main event runner-up Paul Wasicka hosted the FTOPS Main Event which offered an impressive $2 million guaranteed prize pool, boosted by the entry overlay of $289 000. This provided cash to 648 players in the event, with the top four spots worth a six-figure take-home.

A total of 4 578 poker playing aspirants for the title entered for the main event, and as a result the tournament ran through to 6.25 Eastern time Monday morning.

CrazyZachary had the fourth largest chip stack - half way down the nine player final table - when the big game started, with lead player Chardrian around 1.5 million in chips ahead of him at 4 676 442.

By the time the final tablers were down to four, CrazyZachary and Chardrian were both playing aggressively and eliminating opponents, but the latter eventually found himself eliminated in third place, earning $155 652 for his trouble.

Heads up, it was Clayton_27 facing CrazyZachary with a slight edge in chips, and play was absorbing as the lead changed hands several times in a brisk decider. However, eventually CrazyZachary dominated the game and he ran out the winner. Clayton did well from his efforts, earning a second placing pay packet worth $240 345.
