The Source Of Much Of Your Spam

I think this is the appropriate time and place to post this.

I already was well aware that most RTG sites were crooked, and I decided to conduct an experiment last summer.

I created 12 separate email accounts and proceeded to sign up for 12 different RTG casinos.

The email handles were all RoanansClubPlayer@xxxx.net, RoanansSOV@xxxx.net, RoanansCirrus@xxxx.net, etc.

    The following casinos were targeted:

    Cirrus
    Cirrus UK
    Club Player
    Cool Cat
    iNetBet
    Palace Of Chance
    Party City
    Prism
    Slots Of Vegas
    Vegas Strip
    VIP Lounge
    The Virtual
    Wild Vegas

Of the 12 email accounts, the only two that did NOT start receiving spam almost immediately (erectile dysfunction, Nigerian letter scams, phishing casinos, etc.) were iNetBet and Party City

If these sites were based in Canada, this would actually be considered sufficient evidence of privacy violation and email address sharing, and the authorities would act to shut them down.

Too bad they're not in Canada

Considering doing the same thing with Rival casinos

Most of those are Virtual Group casinos, and they are indeed Rogue. iNetBet is accredited, and you did NOT receive spam from them.

We accept that rogue casinos are going to misbehave, so it is not surprising that Virtual group are selling off their player email addresses. A better experiment would be to try this with casinos NOT considered rogue.

Another thing worth doing would be to see what GROUP the casinos are in, so that you have a better idea whether it is group policy, or down to leakage from individual casinos.

Rival would be an interesting exercise, as they are not considered likely to do anything deliberately "bad", such as violating privacy by selling on player's details.

An exercise covering accredited casinos would also be worth while, you should find NO spam comes from these, but it would be worth finding out whether this is always the case.

Perhaps the entire forum could assist with an undertaking of that size.

If everyone who was about to join a new casino created a separate email just for that casino, then this wouldn't be as daunting of a task at it would seem.

Plus it would allow us to start creating a list of possible and confirmed sources of spam and email sharing.

There is a big problem. You have to use the SAME email address as the casino for many ewallets, so you MUST use a "primary" email address, rather than create many "experimental" secondary email addresses.

The ONLY other way would be to NOT ever intend to DEPOSIT, and then one COULD try this, play the free chip deliberately down to zero, and then wait to see if the email address starts getting spammed from sources OUTSIDE the casino, showing that it has been passed on rather than being kept confidential.
