Doesn't look "sorted" - the complaint is today.

Try sending a copy to Villento, I am sure THEY will have it out with Club World because of the use of Villento by what is effectively a subcontracted EMPLOYEE of Club World marketing. I expect it would get more attention, and at a higher level of management, if a competitor business made a complaint, which would have the backing of a team of lawyers, and would effectively be an order to "sort it NOW", rather than the usual approach of negotiating with errant affiliates.

The problems with Club World affiliate program goes deep, it seems these dodgy affiliates JUST KEEP ON COMING, there is no overall control, and no improvement in this since players started assisting them by making spam reports.

My experience of reporting spam is not good either. I hardly EVER receive a reply, so I do not even know what is being done - nothing at all it seems.

There seem to be VERY strong measures in place to pick up fraudulent players, yet it seems affiliates can run riot largely unchecked. Players have the RIGHT to expect these SAME kinds of measures are being used to identify affiliates that act outside of the terms, and in many cases, outside of the LAW.

The spam is also likely to be indiscriminate, for all we know, the decision makers in the Whitehouse over in the USA, and over here in Parliament, are receiving the same deluge of casino related spam on their private email addresses as we are, and this will certainly be influencing their views of this whole industry, comparing it with the likes of bogus online pharmacies, or those notorious "419" scams - since some of the casino spam is worded in a similar way, such as "give up your day job, earn a living playing at xxxxxx online casino - click here and register an account".

I got this too, and it pissed me off. It absolutely looks like a ClubWorld promo mailer. I forwarded it to support, and told them I realized it was for new accounts, but why was it coming from a domain named Villento.com? The reply I got back was that this was for new accounts only.

I've also forwarded it to Tom...but I guess the correct action would be to bring it to Martyn's attention, rather than Tom.

I like the idea of sending a copy to Villento, if all else fails.

I mean...I get tons of spam shit every single day. I expect it from the Virtual shitholes, and other shady places. But I DON'T expect to get this crap from places like ClubWorld. I never get spam for Inetbet or 32Red, or many other reputable sites. So why can't these guys get this under control?

EDITED TO ASK: Rob or Vinyl, can one of you explain to me how this asshole can have an email addy that is contact@villento.com ? Villento.com is a valid domain, which of course is MG's Villento Casino....I don't get how he can have an email address from that domain?

you can have any address in the from: reply to: etc....it doesn't mean that they actually have an address there..

Transparency, as used in the humanities and in a social context more generally, implies openness, communication, and accountability. It is a metaphorical extension of the meaning a "transparent" object is one that can be seen through. ...

Correct, and also PROOF of intent to deceive, and therefore proof of intent to SPAM.

I suggested sending a complaint to Villento because they are a BUSINESS, and ANOTHER business in the same field is "bringing their name into disrepute" by failing to exercise control over it's affiliates.

Since complaints from CM members over the last few months have made NO real progress towards getting the problem "sorted", it is time to take the pressure to a higher level.

The fact that we don't see such spam from the likes of 32Red or InetBet, for example, demonstrates that it is POSSIBLE to exercise such a level of control over affiliates that spam from them is not a problem.

this was the email i received from martyn about the spam i reported, maybe the affiliate hasnt checked his emails and doesnt know his/her account has been shut down

Thanks for the heads up (again). This seems to be from the same affiliate as last time, but the thing is after I dropped them an email regards to the previous issue their account was closed as no response was received.

Although it seems you have received more spam from this affiliate it will have no benefit to them. However I am pretty powerless to stop them sending. I will try and make contact again and inform them regards their account status and see where we get. I will reference my earlier mail which also requested your email accounts to be removed from their list.

I hope all is well otherwise?

you will have to ask martyn about that, im just reporting on what happened to the affiliate thats been spamming me,account closed, end of story, im sure another few will pop up in his place, he made a valid point in a PM he sent me about taking further action against a spammer,

Before I can take any further action I need to ascertain as much information about the marketing efforts of this affiliate, I can’t simply steam in and ban an affiliate account without any form of reasoning. At the time I received your PM we had no complaints hence my less than action packed response. Since then however, we have received a number of emails from players who received the same email. Some claiming the offer some asking to be removed from the email list. Of course this isn’t ours to do so but have informed the affiliate
at least they are trying to do something about it
