Vegas Partner Spam

Hi all,

Although I've held membership at Vegas Partner Lounge properties for ages I haven't played there for years.

In early March I decided what's the point of getting newsletter and mailers from a place I don't play at. So I used the unsubscribe to opt out. That was March 7 2009.

A few days later I receive, you guessed it another mailer. So I do it again...

A few days later another one turns up...

Today is the final straw. It's now the 27'th March 2009 and although I've used the unsubscribe option it's done anything but unsubscribe me. If fact it looks like it just generated more unwanted BS from Vegas Partner Lounge.

If a VPL rep is reading this send me a PM and tell me why I was not unsubscribed on the 7'th March 2009. You may like to also tell me why I have received all this spam from you too?

Hi,

Even though you have asked this company to remove you from their database they may have a copy of the database elewhere within the company or their third parties may have a copy and have not got the updated info. The chances are you are still on a list somewhere, it can take months for your information to be removed alltogether.

I can say for a fact that VPL doesn't give your address out to any 3rd parties....I've used a unique gmail account for this group and have never gotten any spam in it.

All player information will be kept confidential and be accessed only by authorized personal who are authorized and controlled by the organization. We will not disclose or share any sensitive information about a player if specifically prohibited to do so by Maltese laws. Any personal identification documentation will be for the sole purpose of identifying the player who registered the casino account/s in question and also for determining the legitimacy of account registrations and activity. Vegas Partner Lounge will keep all documentation received as well as personal account information relating to the player, confidential, secure and safe. Vegas Partner Lounge may forward or disclose any such documentation or personal information when required by law to appropriate authorities for the prevention and detection of crime or any other duly authorized purpose of any public authority, or pursuant to the order of any competent court. Where applicable Vegas Partner Lounge may also forward relevant documentation as proof of identity and/or convey personal and account information to a third party for use in the recovery of any sums owed to Vegas Partner Lounge by the player".


Where have you got your facts from ???? This states they would disclose your info if necessary!!!

I said they MAY have his information somewhere within the company.




As they are known as the partner lounge i'm pretty sure that they are some sort of conglomerate there will be more than one database.
If thisis the case then they will honour your request for your information to be removed but it may take a little longer for them to delete you from there overall records.

You took my statement out of context.....

This thread is about receiving spam, and you mentioned 3rd parties....and I said they wouldn't give your email out to 3rd parties - and I meant for the purpose of spamming...

Of course they're going to give your information out to 3rd parties when they're legally required to, or when they're trying to collect any money that you owe them...

If it is a partnership there are more than one body working together.

Each individual body within the partnership will have their own seperate back up copies of a customers.

When requesting for your details to be removed, they will be removed from the database which VPL has. VPL being the partnership company

VPL will then conact their partners and request for your information to be removed from all databases, this is where the time delay comes into it, it can take awhile for this to occur.

As you have contacted the company i'm sure that within 3 months the e-mails will cease. If not present them with the fact that you have given the sufficient notice that you wish for the e-mails to cease and then sue them for harrassment.

Vegas Partner Lounge is not a "partnership" in this sense, it is just the name of the casino group, just as "Jackpot Factory" is the name for the group that runs the 5 separate casinos. It should not take more than a week or two for all mailers to cease, and it should certainly NOT result in an INCREASE in emails after unsubscribing, but if anything, a steady decrease as the unsubscribe is propagated throughout all their databases.

This looks like they have "ring fenced" databases, with NO propagation of an unsubscribe. This is a poor arrangement, and is contrary to the provisions of the Can Spam act, let alone the more stringent definitions of spam as used by the likes of spamhaus.

How about emailing them, give them a time limit after which further emails will be forwarded to spamhaus for addition to their database, and possible blacklisting of the offending domain(s). I am sure this will get their attention

I too have noticed they have become VERY active recently with sending emails to players who have not played in a very long while. I am interested in their changes, since the reason I haven't been back is because their previous offers were "crap". This may be a sign that they have lost a significant portion of their loyal players to casinos offering better loyalty offers. The poor loyalty scheme they launched not too long ago seems to have quickly been shelved, and replaced by something that actually looks somewhat attractive.
