    Gold Vegas?

Has anyone ever heard of this outfit? I keep getting spam from them at one of my gmail accounts that I _rarely_ give out, and trying to figure out if they're connected to any other reputable group.....looks like they use TopGame software.

I was told 3 days ago that they would remove my email address from their list, but yet I just got another one from them....

    Bump.

The casino rep has introduced himself and the casino. Maybe he should also post here to respond to Winbig.

    Hi Winbig,

I am not sure what is the case here as we can not control if some affiliates send mailers to their own lists.
What I suggest to do is to please send us email to support@goldvegascasino.com with the html mailer. I can then track the affiliate ID and will demand to remove you from their mailing list.
Have you ever registered with us? I can check that one also for you just incase.

    Best Regards,
    Gold Vegas Casino Team

Welcome to the forum, and not to be rude, but......of course you can control if your affiliates spam for your casino. You shut down their affiliate account. Pretty simple actually, zero tolerance.

If it's an affiliate database that the recipient has actually signed up for ie. newsletter, email notifications of new casinos, etc. then they would expect to receive such things. But if it's just "some affiliate" who's gotten hold of a database of players somewhere, then it's unacceptable for them to spam.

If more programs would take the hard line with these affiliate spammers, at least part of this problem could be eradicated.

I must have gotten thirty spam emails yesterday, all with the same subject line.....ONLINE GAMBLING NEWSLETTER. I did follow the link in one of them, and it led to a "Golden Crown Casino". I went no further than that, so I don't know what software it was. It could have been this place, or my first thought was that bloody Gold VIP Club, the worst spammers to EVER hit the internet. Maybe I'll investigate a bit more.

Edited to add: I went back to double check and every link on the so-called casino homepage, leads to a d/l for SmartDownload.exe which is, of course, RTG. I just saw that you guys are Top Game, so the ones I received yesterday are indeed Gold VIP Club I'm sure.

It still doesn't excuse your casino/affy program tolerating any spam whatsoever, and I think you'll find that many players get very "turned off" by casinos that allow this to go on, and will refuse to ever play there. Best to nip it in the bud now, if you can.
Attn: New Members! Make sure to check out the "Casinomeister Accredited Casinos" and the "Spot The Rogue" section of the main site here before jumping into "Online Casinos" with no information or knowledge behind you!

This was sent to me directly from support@goldvegascasino.com, so it's definitely not spam from an affiliate...

    Hi Winbig,

These days webmasters can send mailers from any address.
They can even send it from billgates@microsoft.com if they want to.
Please send us the site link so we can track the affiliate ID.
    I haven't seen it below.

    Best Regards,
    Gold Vegas Casino Team

The links in the email lead to xxxhttp://sdm3.rm04.net/ctt?kn=6&m=2...DgS1&mt=1&rt=0 , which redirects to xxxhttp://www.goldvegascasino.com/?sourceID=4280.

I know full well that anyone can send emails making it look like it was sent from anywhere, as I've been online for over a decade and have worked for 2 different ISP's in the past in which it was part of my job to track down spammers using our services.

In my experience, 99.99% of spamming affiliates DO NOT send out their spammy emails with a support@spammed-casino reply-to address. I'm sure others can attest to this, as well.

I can also assure you that this is not some opt-in list that I'm on. This is not my main email address that we're talking about.

For information, "rm04.net" uses nameservers at Silverpop, a B2B agency specialising in email marketing (xhttp://www.silverpop.com/)

    Interesting.

What affiliates do you know that actually hire a marketing firm to send out their spam? I don't know of any...this is sounding fishier by the second.

I forgot to mention the fact that the email even addresses me by my first name. This is my proof that my email address was sold & bought, but by whom?
