Is OKPay really OK?

I know 3dice are accepting OKPay...I was wondering if they or anyone else (players or reps) could comment on how the experience has been with them. Any delays or holdups in processing withdrawals? Any money gone missing? How's the customer service? I'm having a hard time getting reliable information, just a lot of chaff.

Er, by the way, I should clarify one thing -- I'm asking about non-US issues only. I understand there have been some delays for people in the US trying to use credit cards, and I know they put a delay on Moneybookers transactions. I'm wondering more about e-currency transactions and payments from outside the States.

dont know about OKpay as i dont use it but are you ever gona consider using Moneybookers and or Neteller for your site ? as thos are the only two i use

i think ok pay works well it takes little longer to get it up and running IMO its cause they scrutinize u a little more it took me a telephone call

Thanks Viking. I knew I'd seen someone testing my site from the Faroe Islands, but I thought it was a mistake!

We probably won't be able to take Moneybookers for awhile because of our position with Bitcoin. I want to keep our withdrawals immediate. Basically, Bitcoin like a lot of other virtual currencies is one-way and irreversible. Once we pay someone out in Bitcoin, we can't cancel the transaction later. But Moneybookers lets people charge back transactions for something like 30 to 40 days afterwards. I think this is why OKPay has a 40 day hold on MB deposits. So if we took MB, we'd have a problem where people would be able to deposit, then withdraw instantly in Bitcoin, and cancel the MB transaction 30 days later on. The only way to get around it would be if we stopped people who use MB from withdrawing until we'd cleared and verified their MB account, and right now that's too much extra overhead for a small operation like ours.

On top of that, MB's got some weird rules about what happens if the casino's chief executive (me) is a US citizen. Despite the fact that we're closed to the US and won't take players or deposits there, and I have to file US taxes anyway and declare foreign income and bank accounts which is my own responsibility, MB also demands that the casino's main bank account is in the same country as the owner's permanent residence. Which is ridiculous. It's obviously designed to stop money laundering, but it makes zero sense in this case because clearly we can't take MB funds to an American bank. So, effectively Moneybookers bans casinos with any American ownership. And I don't like the idea of taking screwy or questionable ways around that.

Neteller's a little bit of a different story, and it's possible we might get around to hooking up with them one of these days. But I want to keep it all in e-currency first, with no credit cards and no chargeback risks. I like the idea of taking small steps and see what happens when the site starts going beyond Bitcoin, as opposed to diving into the deep end...

i only load on with them , take check on cashing

Ahhhhha. I didn't really realize that. If it doesn't draw non-US players, it's kinda pointless since the US just gets a dead page on our site. Who do you like to use? (If you don't want to answer that in public, can you pm me about it?) I'm basically interested in anything other than credit cards or moneybookers.

I don't have data to back it up, but based on experience and what members have posted over the years, the non-US players live pretty much on a staple diet of credit cards, MB, and neteller. As Jasmine said, we have a plethora of choices so we tend to stick with large, well-known web wallets.

In reference to OKPAY, there has been issues with double charging lately.

I did briefly look into them, and I've followed most threads relating to them. Fees are much higher than Moneybookers, or depositing directly with credit card, although 3Dice reimburses players for part of the fee costs.

EcoCard is used by some players, especially in some markets. You might want to explore that.
