This really doesn't surprise me as trying to issue checks for online gaming or even wires while sitting is pretty risky business. I thought this was established a long time ago. Yet the sad part is now that the banks and the government have now gotten access to over $10 million plus worth of funds that were suppose to be used to pay players. Now where's the fairness in that.
All these federal government players who are against online gaming. Cry fowl when money leaves the US to support these online gaming sites. Yet they don't have one bit of an issue claiming back funds without reimbursing us US Citizens for our winnings. Which may I add could be used to help restimulate this horrible economy or even better yet. Maybe actually help brighten out future by allow us to open up accounts we never thought was never imaginable.
Yet apparently they don't see it that way. They'd rather take the money for themselves and leave everyone else broke. Can you imagine the nice surprise the players got when going to the bank to cash the check. To be told the account didn't have the funds, was closed, or bounced because of held funds. That'd be a nice winning day message wouldn't it?
Now I'm sure the poker sites or online casino sites made good to the players. No doubt I'm sure. Yet just seems odd that since these players jumped through the hoops to cash out. Now there being spanked yet again because our government got greedy. Yes I said greedy.
Yes there's a law in place to prevent outgoing transactions. Yet now were going after the folks receiving our payments too? Seems a bit much doesn't it?
Ug what a world we live in.
I don't know but to me this operation sounded sloppy and careless. You would think moving around these types of funds on a consistent bases, they might have tried to use the cover of darkness a little better.
For FedEx employees, it was the roughly 51 packages being mailed daily from his Chesapeake Avenue home that made them question what the 29-year-old was doing there.
C'mon, is this not Bush League? Not a lot of thought went into this plan. Maybe they should contact the mob for some better ideas.
Remind me to never send anything via Fed Ex....
Alice: But I don't want to go among mad people.
The Cat: Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.
You'd think that FedEx would just be glad to have the business but instead they become snitches. We live in such a surveillance society that governments are not the only ones watching you. Electric/Power companies meter readers report on whether your dog is licensed or not. Power companies report to authorities if you are using too much electricity (suspecting pot growing operations). Airline ticket attendants report to airport security if you paid your ticket in cash or even if you are traveling with no luggage or carry-on.
It's now that big companies with monopoly or near-monopoly hold on business have become de-facto extensions of the government.
Isn't that the truth! And a total lack of respect for personal privacy and professional confidentiality appear to be the cause.

What a dumbass. With that much money, all he had to do was set up the operation, "In a country where it is legal", and use that countrys banks. Hell, he just as well should have his own Casino in Florida as there was not much difference.
"All I want, is to WIN my fair share, and maybe just a teeny bit more"
