    Encouraging news on UIGEA

NFL Hires Full-Time Lobbyist to Attack Online Gambling

The National Football League is so concerned with its manufactured, hypocritical image that it hired a full-time lobbyist to work for it in pressuring Congress to maintain the UIGEA online gambling ban. The NFL, concerned that the prohibition of Internet gambling may soon be brought to an end, hired Jeff Miller, a top aide to Senator Herb Kohl, to represent its interests on Capitol Hill.

How is this encouraging news? Maybe for pro-UIGEA organizations such as the NFL, NBA, etc.
Operators: If you don't know what Transparency means, then here you go.....now how about practicing it?

Transparency, as used in the humanities and in a social context more generally, implies openness, communication, and accountability. It is a metaphorical extension of the meaning a "transparent" object is one that can be seen through. ...

Well,Robwin........my thinking goes this way..If the NFL did not think that UIGEA may be over they would not spend the thousands of dollars to get a lobbyist to keep this stupid regulation on the books..I guess the see the light at the end of the tunnel cosidering Barney Frank's prominence recently for good or bad
Secondly, Roger Goddell must know of things in the wind us ordinary tax paying citizens aren't are of as yet..You know the saying .....we are like mushrooms , they keep us in the dark and feed us a lot of bullshit

This is the first anti UIGEA news I have read with any credibility giving me hope

Miller's appointment actually took place last year, although some industry reportage last week carried it as if it was a new thing.

The NFL has always lobbied strongly against online gambling, spending generous budgets on getting at the right politicians. The other US professional leagues, and the NCAA have likewise taken a negative line.

Interestingly, the NFL and the NCAA are currently trying to intimidate the governor of Delaware, Jack Markell, out of legalising sports betting (see Casinomeister News).

If I am reading this right.. The NFL here in the US can kiss my rosy red butt!
They had better start cleaning UP their own back yard before they start speaking for us USA taxpayers!!

I am so sick of the US and how they are ruling us! Pretty soon, we will have to ask permission to make babies.
Although.. come to think of it.. that is probably in an upcoming LAW shortly!

Sorry.. I do get P.O.'d at my country and our lawmakes from time to time.
