Usually the place will choose to stiff players first, and keep paying affiliates so they can still get new players.
In this case, the place decided that a substantial amount of money could be saved by not paying affiliates for services performed. Plus Microgaming does not accept new players, so affiliates are now useless to them. They can stay afloat longer if they steal the monies owed to affiliates and pay them to players.
One way or another, what goes around, comes around. Like I said before, next thing they will likely stiff the cleaning lady.
The more affiliates realize that they are there to serve the player first and foremost - by providing info that saves the player research time - the better all of us will do.
The more players realize that their clicks are votes and clicking on helpful sites keeps these alive, and refusing to click on bad ones will put these out of business, the better all of us will do.
Rogue is rogue is rogue, and unfortunately most rogue places will target players first and affiliates second. Affiliates who don't keep up with player issues do get to taste the consequences, because rogue outfits soon enough quit paying affiliates also.
In this case affiliates got scammed first for a change, and just like affiliates need to heed player warnings, players need to heed affiliate warnings. It's only smart.
In the end we are in the same boat and rogues affect both groups equally. It's just a matter of who gets scammed first, if one gets scammed, the other is soon to follow.
When Grand Prive exhausts the stolen money, then what do you think will happen?
If we only all learned to listen to each other, together we are strong and can excert pressure, and together we have the information to keep all of us safe from scammers.
Cooperation now between players and affiliates is far from perfect, but intentional non-cooperation only makes it worse for both parties.
The more we cooperate, the better all of us will fare and the less rogue outfits will get away with murder.
