Why would they stop the tape. To save $7K?

Why didnt they keep it running and air the program?

    1) It probably would have paid for itself

    2) It would have been a great advertizement for the show

This full story smells of BS

I dont know why they stopped the taping either because it would of made them look good. Im not sure TMZ is a pretty popular "E" type show. The showboat is the casino here in AC that has those type of game prize shows

I wasnt sure if i was allowed to post the article, thats why I just put the link up. Ill look more into it at TMZ.com

This is the originial tmz article: http://www.tmz.com/2008/07/29/the-price-is-wrong/

I saw Drew Carey explaining this on TV.

They had the Plinko board "set up" to hit the max payout during the taping of a TV advertisement. Stage hands moved the wrong board into the real show and the player hit the max all three times. They paid her but fixed the board after that.

Things that make you go HMMMM!!!

I'm not sure what the brou-ha-ha is about. Almost any game can be rigged when given access to one who knows how. B&M slot machines were rigged when someone 'inside' rigged them. AP and UB online poker games were rigged when crooks used a back door in the software to see everyone's hole cards.... *shrug*

The Cat: Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.

There are also rules in the US (UK too I think?) that govern game shows. During the first season of one of the Survivor/Big Brother shows, there was talk about in essence chopping the pot, and the producers had to step in and tell them it wasn't allowed.
They would have to re-set the game to "fair" conditions for air or not be able to air the program at all which would be an even bigger waste.
