Sportingbet and Game Account combine on backgammon

SPORTINGBET MOVES BACKGAMMON PLAYERS TO GAME ACCOUNT NETWORK

Greater liquidity in pooled activity

Sportingbet is combining its existing Backgammon players with the GameAccount Network taking full advantage of the critical mass of player liquidity already provided by other respected online sportsbook, casino and poker operators.

"This move combines all our Backgammon players in one place. GameAccount offers leading browser-based Backgammon software with a particular strength in cash games, tournaments and localisation for European markets. This deal gives our players access to one of the largest Backgammon communities in Europe equipped with the best-value tournaments, and fits with our strategy of consolidating our supplier base to a smaller number of strategic partners and providing our customers with the best possible experience as a result" says Paul Roberts, Group Director of Products at Sportingbet Plc.

All GameAccount licensees enjoy the benefits of GameAccount's 2007 software upgrades which include navigation enhancements for the games lobby, more information for tournament players and side games. Players can now easily find and register for the next tournament to start and simply navigate between game tables. For the first time in Backgammon, recreational players can launch side games from the game lobby without missing a moment of live person-to-person Backgammon action. For sophisticated players per-point "moneyplay" cash games and downloadable move histories completes the product offering.

"We are delighted to welcome Sportingbet's Backgammon players into the GameAccount Network." said Dermot Smurfit, COO. "Our continued focus on Backgammon is delivering results with excellent yields per active player day. Backgammon is a game for both recreational players and sophisticated high-roller players. Creating a software solution to cater to both customer groups is something GameAccount can be rightly proud of. Our network-wide tournaments allow all licensees to offer better-value tournaments compared to any standalone operator. A Backgammon product capable of catering to a wide variety of recreational and serious punters is a must-have for all sportsbook operators offering a full portfolio of eGaming products."
