TURKS CLIMB IN ON WEBDOLLAR ONLINE BANKING ERROR

Gamblers' money went much further at these casinos!

According to reports circulating on industry message boards as the week ended, Turkish players exploited to the full a foreign exchange screw-up bonanza that saw some of them being charged the equivalent of only $10 for their $1 000 deposits at Boss Media casinos.

The error, believed to have occurred at one of Webdollar's acquiring banks, is understood to have gone undetected for some time has resulted in the Boss Media processor banning Turkish players.

In an email to players who took advantage of the glitch, Webdollar writes that one of its acquiring banks made the error and that the "transactions you conducted with us in the currency Turkish Lire was incorrectly debited from your bank account. This means that we have debited your bank account with incorrect amounts and that you now owe us funds, USD xxxxxx.

"In the attached document you will find the incorrect debited orders

"It is also obvious that you have been aware of and [have been] abusing the system and we now request you to settle this debt to us, or we are forced to take legal actions against you."

The email goes on to give the addressee a deadline, after which time "....we will involve financial institutions/banks, contact the local police and take this case to court. Our legal firm has already been in contact with their Turkish partner firm and it is important that this case be solved as soon as possible."

Players are offered the facility of repayment by bankwire if they do not wish to involve their credit card companies, and their casino accounts remain locked until such time as the debt has been settled.

The email is signed by the managing director of WebDollar.

Boss Media executives were asked for comment on the issue and their response is awaited.
