The owner and operator of WorldPokerParty.com and DoubleYourMoneyCasino.com has been sentenced to 10 years in a US federal prison. Robert Eon Marshall, 58, of Fort Worth Texas pleaded guilty in January of this year to mail fraud. These charges stemmed from an investor scam that Marshall ran in 2003 and 2004. Marshall pitched ownership in his company to interested parties at ten thousand dollars a throw. Some 41 individuals, many of them retirees, lost over $900,000 to the silver tongued fraudster. Marshall was also ordered to pay one million dollars to those he tricked into giving him money. As part of the scam Marshall would send falsified earnings reports so that existing investors would commit more money to the scheme. The charge of mail fraud followed an investigation by the FBI.
