Daily remote gaming from a Frankfurt casino is targeted on UK players

It looks as if the German land gambling sector is branching out into international gaming in a new Internet venture. The Casino Wiesbaden in Frankfurt is set to offer British online gamblers an Internet roulette experience from Germany: playing live roulette from the comfort of their own homes.

Registered players will be able to place stakes on the roulette table via their computer, keeping track of the result and watching the croupier via 2 webcams.

Casino Wiesbaden claims it is at present the sole state-licensed and permanently state-controlled casino offering online roulette via webcam. The game operates daily from 11:00am to 3am local time on two tables and with authentic wheels.

"Everything about our online roulette is real! The only difference is that the player is sitting at home at his or her PC instead of being here at the Casino's gaming table", said Thomas Freiherr von Stenglin, the CEO of Casino Wiesbaden. "We're very excited to be able to welcome gambling enthusiasts from the United Kingdom via the Internet."

Because the UK has officially said that online gambling is definitely legal. It's like an open invitation. It's a logical first step.

If sucessful I assume they will try for an official permit in Germany and perhaps other countries eventually...
