Does anyone know of non-gambling related merchants that take neteller? I asked neteller and thay said do a Google search. I keep finding casinos. I would rather spend what is left than let it sit for who knows how long.

That division of Neteller plc was created totally for gambling transactions. They state there are other merchants but it is a smoke-screen. There used to be a list of their merchants on one of their Neteller Group plc sites but the link has been shut down. (gee, wonder why?)
The smart thing would have been to market their service to other merchant groups. But they did'nt
Good news is that their last company report says they are holding U.S. customer funds in a trust account. Allowing withdrawals upon customer demand.
I would contact Neteller Group plc, stockholder relations and lodge a complaint if you don't get your money. (even though you aren't a stockholder, your inquiry will get to the corporate level at least

At conjelco.com you can buy poker/gambling related books and videos with Neteller. I think you have to email them to find out how.
If you do a search on ebay, you can find some items where Neteller is accepted.

That's assuming this guy is legit...
Plus, this guy would have to have a merchant account seeing as how peer > peer transfers are disabled for US players...

Beware. I really don't think this guy is legit. He said that he had a peer to peer transfer 2 days ago. I think that's either total BS, or he transferred it to a non-US account.
I used the "contact seller" via Ebay asking him whether or not he had a merchant account, and he replied with "I have a certified Neteller account". I think that may be true, because his email address was from Italy.
Even so, US customers can't transfer money to him, so what's the use?
People are getting DESPERATE! $375 in Neteller funds for $199! No bidding, either. That price is "Buy it now".

This cannot be good for Neteller, they must be annoyed that eBay are hosting these auctions. This is effectively trading Neteller funds as "junk bonds", a stockmarket term for traded debt where the company who issued the original loan stock is unlikely to be able to redeem it. Terms such as x% of face value are used to value such bonds.
There is no reason for these guys to not deliver, it's a goldmine if they do, and so long as they deliver on their promises they will get a good buyer rating. eBay may well decide to ban this type of auction (in fact, they really SHOULD)
I though that doing a peer to peer from a US to a non-US account was the big problem Neteller worried about, and maybe it was these auctions that made them take the action as it could result in later problems with legal action from US account holders who had to trade their funds at below face value. By preventing peer to peer, Neteller have stopped this trade in it's tracks in it's current form. It will now take the cooperation of a non-gambling merchant. I don;t believe simply buying gambling/poker related books counts as online gambling, so US account holders should be able to spend their funds on poker books that are of little use since they can't play now online anyway
