    Frist responds to UIGEA

Good thing that his contributors at Harrah's don't contribute to the undermining of family values

The stock response from Frist... I think he is telling us to... Blow it out our asses... He won, we lost.

But I got news for Frist.... This ain't over by a long shot!

People in the USA are VERY VERY TIRED of radical religious politicos forcing their religion down our throats...

The next election in the US will see even more radical religious politicos, like Frist, lose their elected positions.

    aaagh

This just goes to show where a lot of power in this country comes from. Big business. The NFL and Harrahs entertainment paid Frist to ram this bill through. So, Frist PROSTITUTED himself to these companies, got on his knees and serviced them.

Well we the people have a mechanism also....its called elections!! When a government so blatantly rips away our freedoms like this....well its time for them to be ousted. And they were. Yay.

While I understand the concerns of the numerous individuals that participate in on-line gaming, the bottom line is simple: Internet gambling is illegal.
Ahem, This idiot doesn't get it does he? Why is it ilegal? Because Harrah's stock is worth more if it is! Not because that is what the people want, because that is what FRIST wants.

Gambling is a serious addiction that undermines the family, dashes dreams, and frays the fabric of society. Congress has grappled with this issue for 10 years, and during that time the on-line gaming industry has exploded. Although it is impossible to monitor every on-line gambler or regulate offshore gambling, steps can be taken to police the financial institutions that disregard our laws.
And in this way ensure that online gambling goes further under ground. This poor (Ooops, rich) guy just doesn't get how much regulating it would have benefited this exact reason he gives us if it was legalized.

On September 30,2006, following a vote of 409-2 in the House of Representatives, the US Senate passed the port security improvement act of 2006 by unanimous consent.(pl 109-347).
Exactly! They voted for the port security bill, yyyyeeeeezzzzzz if you think online gambling monies are going through a port and endanger the US.... Eureka now I get it, he must have thought they were talking of a computer port, man if only he asked I would have explained that it is not the same thing!

Should I be concerned that I am fraying the fabric of society?

I guess one can only fray on line, but one does not fray when one gets in the car, drives to Vegas or the local Indian Reservation, visit the race track or buys a lottery ticket.

The only difference to me is that the local IRS person is at your side for the latter, smiling and holding out their hand for their share of my legalized freying.

Depends on your winnings. If you hit it big at the racetrack, vegas, or indian reservation, they'll take Uncle Sam's cut right then and there...
