U.S. Congress adjourns without further action

Of note is that the lame-duck session of the 109th U.S. Congress adjourned yesterday and no further action was taken with the other pending internet gambling legislation, H.R. 4777. So the bill which would have amended the Federal Wire Act to make internet gambling illegal will now die.

Here's hoping that the next Congress will take a more player-friendly look at this issue.

    Yep, you are correct sdaddy.

Current news that a lot of the Reps. are griping about now is the new 5-day required work week (instead of their average Tues-Thurs. schedule) which will take effect I believe January 4th. Such is a consequence of the much publicized "lamest of the lame duck sessions in history".

Good for us, though (at GPO)..hopefully more OT!!

If the new Congress....pardon the pun....plays its cards right....and dosent try to suspend habeus corpus....tap our phones....outlaw online gambling....molest little kids, etc....then they will hold Congress for a VERY long time.
