    Online Gaming Hall of Fame?

Can someone please tell me what the Online Gaming Hall of Fame is and who's behind it? I seem to have missed something here, because Casino Fortune (where BS is not unknown) has just issued a press release announcing their induction as the first recipient of this "honour"?????

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Casino Fortune is excited to announce its induction into the Online Gaming Hall of Fame. The induction is the first of an annual announcement by the Online Gaming Hall of Fame to honor trendsetters, ground breakers and visionaries in the online gaming industry.

Casino Fortune has received this honor for a number of achievements. Casino Fortune was the first to become a licensee of both Microgaming and Playtech. Both software houses went on to become the Number 1 and Number 2 in the industry. Casino Fortune was the first online gaming site to hold a gaming license from the Kahnaw'a:ke Gaming Commission. Casino Fortune's development division also shares in this honor for the development of revolutionary mobile gaming software. Casino Fortune's charitable contributions have been recognized as well. Casino Fortune was one of the first online gaming companies to aid victims of Hurricane Katrina by giving $5 toward Katrina relief for each of its online members that responded to an email regarding the donation. They also donated $100,000 to Tsunami victims by purchasing boats for fishermen who had lost all to the tragic natural disaster.

Of the induction Casino Fortune President Dennis Rose states, "We are thrilled that the Online Gaming Hall of Fame has recognized us in this way. Casino Fortune takes great care in providing our customers with the best online gaming experience they can have. As far as our charitable contributions are concerned we are proud that we can contribute to a better life for those in need. This is one of the most thrilling days of my life. To be rewarded with this honor is incredibly thrilling and makes our huge efforts so worthwhile"

Maybe this is a new spin off? They do say "the first of an annual announcement" (sic) in the PR above.

Yeah - I turned that one up on Google too but it certainly has nothing to do with this, and other searches have revealed nothing compatible either.

I'm beginning to think this is another of this group's PR stunts.

For me it was a good if rather cynical laugh - it's a pretty bumbling attempt by this outfit to give kudos to itself...and the site navigation is literally non-existent.

Ludicrous. But it might fool some folks.

This really does rile me, when casinos pull these kind of stunts. I have been running my portal for just over a year and a half. I thought I knew quite a bit about the industry having worked in it for 5 years with Ladbrokes.

However when I started out as a casino portal webmaster, I like many other casino portal webmasters was green around the gills as it were. I must confess to having a casino fortune affiliate account - and when I started out I did promote them for a couple of months.

This is why resources such as CAP, WinnerOnline and CasinoMeister are so valuable in my view. Because they provide webmasters with impartial unbiased accounts of casino groups. Therefore you can make an informed decision when deciding on which groups you actually promote. Futhermore you have a platform where you can interact with players and webmasters alike and don't have to keep to a particular group think line.

Unfortunately this industry being based on the internet is unregulated as such. Which makes resources which I have mentioned above all the more important not just for players, but webmasters who refer players to online casinos and poker rooms. This is also something I am trying to achieve and strive for on my own portal.

Since I have been working full time on my portal(s) from September last year, I never cease to be amazed at some of the stunts that various online casinos and also affiliate webmasters try to pull.

I am also aghast that many webmasters knowingly continue to promote casinos which in my opinion treat their customers i.e the players less than adequately. Just by looking at the complaints forum here on Meister provides an unhappy insight into this.

This is why, whilst by no means perfect, I support the concept of sites like eCOGRA.

LMFAO... talk about having to stoop low...

Now I really wonder whether they spent any money to help build boats for fishermen who lost their vessels in the tsunami...

This used to be a really top online casino group several years ago, with no need to resort to these cheap Golden Palace-like stunts. Guess things have changed...

That's the tragedy of this whole thing. This "Hall of Fame" is obvious total bullshit. If they have the gall to lie about this, why wouldn't they lie about anything they do.

I tell you one thing, if they were still with Microgaming, they would have had their asses kicked for that.

Starts with an M ends with an i. When she left, they went down the tubes IMO.

Good question - why do they find this crap necessary? Too many bong hits in Trinidad I guess - plus a total lack of creativity. It's like they are a Golden Palace wannabe - which begs the question - why would anyone in their right mind want to be like GP?
