    Comments -- Old Captain Cook

This is my first post and not sure where this should be ? I spent many hours yesterday going through a lot of comments about Captain Cook and ICL . I don't wish to hijack a thread .

My first experience with Online Casinos was with Captain Cook ( back when online gaming was OK in the U.S ) and absolutely loved the experience . I have no credit cards and they accepted Western Union ( and Money Grams I think ) which was a fantastic way to transfer funds . I usually had funds in my players account by the time I drove back home ( 15 minutes ) . Pay-outs were routinely received via cashier's check in 8 days . I loved Microgaming software and all of the folks who managed and were in tech support at CC . Response time by tech support to my e-mails was usually 5 minutes . We stopped visiting Captain Cook when they were either taken over by or affiliated with the Casino Rewards Group as CC was nowhere near the same . Perhaps unjustifiably so , but we determined that we would not have anything to do with any casino affiliated with or owned by Casino Rewards .

I do feel that Microgaming should state a policy of always paying patrons should a casino using their software default . I have read that they " seem " to have that policy , but it should be openly stated .

I have been a long time visitor to landbased casinos in Shreveport , Louisiana , but found it so nice to spend an evening at CC in the comfort of my own home ( disliked all of the smoke in the casinos ) and without having to travel approx. 600 miles roundtrip . The experience was almost as nice as my land based casino experience ( nicer in many ways ) and the payouts at CC were good enough to make it fairly enjoyable . I did learn that there are degrees of " random generators " . Random should be random !!!

I have noticed many comments regarding the online casino experience as strictly " entertainment " . Entertainment it is , but I always visit any casino in the hope I will actually improve my financial situation . When that " hope " is removed , gambling loses all interest . If one only wants
" entertainment " there are many CD's of slots and Poker ( my favorite ) that one can purchase , but my desire is more than to simply watch reels spin and cards appear for " fun " .

I learned early on that " bonuses " were meaningless when one considers that
" gift " had to be cycled dozens of times before cashing in . My desire would be to finally have online gaming as close to land-based casinos as possible with pay-out percentages openly available to the patrons which in reality should be far better than land-based casinos as related to overhead . Any bonus should be cycled only one time before receiving pay-outs ( as with my land-based casino ) or not offered at all . If any online casino should finally realize that pay-out percentage and honesty without human GREED are what is really important , that casino will dominate all others . As long as humans are involved that is highly unlikely , but not impossible !!
    Thanks ,

    Jamie

I am very glad you enjoyed online gaming!

My replies to some of your thoughts:

    1. Casino Rewards is a cheater group. They assured my by Live chat minutes before depositing 100 Euro that I will receive their match bonus at one of their casinos saying I am eligible, but after depositing they declined to do so changing to me being not eligible. And I haven't received it since then (3 months).

    2. Many casinos should loosen their bonus rules indeed. But on the other hand I hope online casinos will never give up offering bonuses. It depends only the playing style whether a bonus is good for someone or not. The fact that you don't like bonuses doesn't mean they are totally useless. Personally for me bonuses are great help. I like to receive bonuses, and without them, I think I couldn't play, being a lowroller, because my strating balance would be so low without them, that it wouldn't last for a minute either. But of course I am not talking about bonuses with almost impossible to complete WRs, but the better ones, like ones with 10x WR or so. Anyway if you don't want a bonus, you always have the option to have it removed or have your account blocked from bonuses.

Personally I've never found gambling all that entertaining when I'm losing. Although I have been known to say out loud after about 30 losing spins and my balance hits zero "Well, that was fun."

I'm sure to keep a touch of sarcasm in my voice in case by some chance the casino hears me and doesn't take it too literal.

Thanks to all for the nice comments on my first post . I am not sure what Bencuri meant by " low roller " ? I am quite wealthy myself . Heeee!! Just kidding and am really living well below the poverty level . I would love to someday find the online " casino of my dreams " and miss the good times several of us had with Captain Cook .
Take care all and thanks also for the nice welcomes to the forum .
