Angry Sun Palace spam - should be rogued

I had played briefly at Sun Palace Casino, and closed my account around a year ago. They started sending me newsletters on a regular basis, and I replied to them, saying I wanted to be opted out of their junk mail. They didn't even respond, so I thought maybe it's a non-reply address, so I email support and demand they remove me from their newsletter and all communication.

That was 3 months ago, and I still receive spam from them. No matter how I try and block them (I have my own server) they still manage to find a way through the gaps. I've even resorted to blocking their IP's, but STILL they find a way through!

It's now looking like a challenge for them, I think, to see how much they can piss me off by sending me their junk emails.

IF you sign up with this casino, they will NEVER LEAVE YOU THE HELL ALONE! I don't even know why they bother, as they know I would never touch their dodgy casino again.

FOR THAT, THEY SHOULD BE ROGUED.

I wish the first post could be more positive, but until now, I've had nothing to say. Except I won two grand jackpots at a landbased casino in a 6 week period... both for $74,000 each, on the same machine. That HAS to be totally defying the odds! So, happy about that, not happy about these Sun Palace idiots.

If it's genuinely a newsletter, it will have your name and account number, and is from them. Recently, there is someone spamming their SUB (I have started getting them). What they seem to have done is to pass player's details to a third party marketing company, who are sending these inactive players special offers. These generally do NOT contain the account number, just the name. Some will even come via "snail mail".

I also find that support just do not respond, yet I wanted to USE the offer, but when I entered the code in it, I was presented with a different offer. The letter does say to contact a support address after entering the code, and this is what is ignored. After three attempts, I have given up and uninstalled Sun Palace, and installed Inetbet instead.

If you have specifically requested to be removed from the list, yet find they are hopping from server to server to thwart your attempts to block the unwanted mailers, then this is most definitely a full blown spamming campaign, and is no "accident". They should take heed of what happened to Fortune Lounge when THEY lost control of the Belize marketing company that managed their campaigns, and it effectively "went native" and launched a full blown spamming campaign from the lists passed to it for marketing.

those buggers just don't quit

Thanks for the reply.

I have now fully blocked mainstreet and related terms in my spam filter on my server because of this (that is where the mail seems to originate from). It doesn't have my account number on it, just the account name, so you are right... probably outsourced marketing... and highly ineffective! Just makes me angry!

I have reported it to spamcops and trend micro, requested that it be added to the Australia-wide blacklist (we have a blacklist that is emailed to the major Australian ISP's) and advised them that if we continue to receive the emails on our server we will take legal action, but unfortunately there is not much that can be done.

I am a member of some Australian gambling sites, so perhaps word of mouth is the best weapon here.

I expect the threat of getting a country wide block will have more effect than "word of mouth", as this will stop ALL communication UNLESS the group take EFFECTIVE action against out of control affiliates and marketing agents.
True spammers will attempt to find ways around any methods designed to stop it, however, the main casino groups do not have the ability to hop from one server to another, and if the block has to be rigorous in order to catch the spammers, it will also choke off the communication from the main casino group unless they redesign their own operations to avoid being caught by spam blocks.
