Thumbs down Casino Rewards Marketing Practices

We all know that this group is among the worst MG groups, but their recent email promoting Mega Moolah really takes the cake! -

The clock is ticking on Mega Moolah and the Jackpot is sure to go off any day now!
    So they either:

    1. Have inside information on when the jackpot will be hit, or

    2. Are encouraging people to blow money on the game by implying that #1 is true.

I find it unfortunate that this kind of marketing is condoned by eCogra. I'm not falling for it, but how many people will? This is the same group that sends out questionable "success stories" in their newsletters, similar to the ones Jackpot Factory had on their web sites last year (emphasis added):

Last saturday I was bored with nothing to do. I dabbled on a few Online casinos however it was actually more fun Playing solitaire. I downloaded a few casinos and decided to try my Luck. I happened upon Captain Cook's and tried one of the Video Poker Games. After only a few minutes I hit a royal flush! I could not believe it. I had just won $ 4000.00! My Luck did not stop there. I switched to a 100 hand Video Poker and could not believe it when I Won a few more royal flushes! My Winnings just kept going. At one point I had $ 15,000 and I seemed unstoppable. Needless to say, I had to pry myself from the Computer - not before I cashed out for $ 14,000! I had such a wonderful time and could not believe my Luck. In fact, the next morning I had to check the computer to ensure I hadn't just dreamt it! I had such a brilliant time with Captain Cook's and look forward to playing again this next week end. Thanks to you guys for your professionalism and for providing such awesome weekend entertainment!

Only thing I enjoyed was at least when Emma tried to put a little sexuality into the spam promos with her pics on the promos but no more pics of Emma..........maybe she got tired of my e-mails back to her that I expected more skin(being politically correct) in her pics.............just another BS artist in the industry especially since I closed my account with CR months ago but I get the promos in duplicate twice a week still..........would still love to see those_____ though,Miss Hall.

BelleRock are also marketing Mega Moolah. Their tactic is just as bad, congratulating me on a "winning streak" I never had, then suggesting that Mega Moolah is "Due". Rubbish! FRUIT MACHINES become "due", RANDOM SLOTS DO NOT

I have played it a few times, and I think the best strategy is to bet small & often, rather than at the full 6.25
I may well try betting low (25p or 50p) for many, many spins next time a suitable promotion comes along just to see how often the bonus wheel appears. Pity this cannot be tried out in fun mode because it is a progressive.

The Mega Moolah jackpot being ready to hit marketing scheme has been used by more then a couple MGM casino groups.

I can't remember each one now, but I've received email like this from more then Rewards and Belle Rock.

It does seem to be a wider campaign than just one group.

I just today got spam from an apparent affiliate, who doesn't even know what the hell they're talking about (especially by promoting Spin Palace to me, who no longer accepts US players):

First of all, it does NOT have a "Pick X of Y" feature if I remember correctly. I would describe it more as a "Click the button and wait patiently for your $10" feature.

Why are all the MG casinos promoting this game so aggressively? It's a lousy game and only takes a couple minutes at max bet to burn $100. Their claim that the bigger you bet, the greater your chances of winning doesn't seem to be true either - you can go upwards of 500 spins at the 6.25 max bet and still not get the $10 jackpot wheel. Free spins are just as rare, and the average total feature win is around 20x to 30x.

The source of this aggressive marketing campaign has to be MG itself. I don't think it's a coincidence that several groups all at once had the same great idea to try to get people to play it. And the recurring "it's bursting at the seams just waiting to be won" theme is hogwash - but if someone DOES win it soon, I will be VERY suspicious about its randomness.

I tried my experiment, spinning at 25p.

    Number of spins 4000+
    Number of bonus wheels 0

Plenty of free spins though, and no real damage to bankroll.

I saw "another player has won the jackpot" many times, so SOMEONE is getting all the bonus wheels.
