Warning, Net Entertainment software VP

I was playing 25 hand video poker at 0.01euro bet 5, for a total bet at 1.25 euro each game.

I press the "bet max" followed by "deal" button. However suddenly in one
game I was betting 1euro nomination for a total bet of 125 euro!
I first saw this after the game where I was not able to play again because I
had too little cash. That single game costed me 70£ (had to discard all in dueces wild, worst hand you can get).

Customer support said I had clicked the nomination bet to 1$, however this would have taken over 10 clicks, which is impossible. BUT at lowest nomination (0.01) if you press the 'decrease nomination' icon it will actually
roll over to the maximum! So there is a slight chance I maybe hit this button by mistake which is the only logical explanation. I have played VP for 1000+ hours and I am pretty accurate with the mouse though.

Of course CS could do nothing as expected (I could have been lucky on the hand though). But now you are warned that the nomination increase/decrease is cyclic.

P1ss poor coding,
It is highly dangerous to have this flaw where not only an innaccurate mouse click, but a server/browser delay can cause a 1c player to inadvertently play at 1Euro instead. For me, this would be worse, playing at £1 a total cost of £125.
While it would be great to get a decent hand and win, the point is that a low roller would have had no fun with a modest deposit.

This would not happen with MG, as the coin selector is non-cyclic, and hitting max bet only maxes the bet at the current coin size, can be dodgy if you are playing slots with only one or two high denomination coins and it suddenly goes to 20 coins per line at all lines! (Yes, I have done this a few times, the buttons are too close, and you can't remove the "max bet" button as you can for the "gamble" button.

Chartwell slots also have cyclic bet sizes. It is likely present for some other games as well.

At which casino did you play 25-hand VP? I haven't seen above 4-play with this software.

CasinoEuro is not Chartwell. They use Net Entertainment software.

DOH! Thank you for correcting this important mistake. Maybe I can have the meister change the thread name and posts.

After a few mails I finally managed to make CS understand the problem. They
kept talking about the "Bet max" was working as it should, and indeed it is. It just makes sure you bet is 5 units for full RF pay.

This is the final response. They do not see it as a bug but quite 'normal'.
I do not agree that it is normal though since no other software has this weird cyclic behaviour nor does B&M machines.

It’s a normal feature on the game machines that by pressing the bets either to highest or lowest limit it will turn back to the other extreme and it will repeat it self over and over, and its you best interest to keep an eye on the game and the betting amount before pushing the button, thus we strongly recommend our clients to give a try on the play money version when clients are not sure of the games rules and functionality as well as features.

Please do not hesitate to contact us again should you have any further questions.

That's a rather lousy response for a potentially big problem. 99% of the time it will be the player's problem. But if some player accidentally bets big and wins big, then I bet they would consider changing it (except they may not know why the player suddenly increased their bet 100 fold).

What a well-written way to tell a customer that it's their own damn fault.

No offense, Zoozie, but they are correct (rude, shortsighted customer service-wise, but technically correct).

On the other hand, it is important for the software company to make a product that is very difficult for players to have accidents on. You'd still be playing there right now if they had protected you with their game design. Instead, we're pointing out their poor service when we could be giving compliments to their software.
