A similar problem affected Club World recently. They were quick to admit it was down to a shortcoming with their servers, and informed the forum that an upgrade to a T4 would help things.
Given the huge number of servers being farmed in Kawanake, it looks very much like the problem is near here, but may not be individual casino servers, but rather the connection between Kawanake and the rest of the world.
While they did tap into a huge fibre optic link between Canada and the US, they are not owners of it, the link is probably carrying an increasing amount of traffic between these two countries, and this could lead to a deterioration of communication bandwidth between the server farm and the players.
MGS may indeed find nothing wrong with individual servers, the problem probably lies in the large and ever expanding number of them.
The sharp decline in US activity should have made this problem less, but in fact it seems worse than ever. It lasted for around two hours, but now seems to have settled down to the usual occasional pauses one expects with
MG.
