    BetCris Live Chat

Hey guys. This is not a real complaint. I m not a member of their site. I read in a site that they are a trustworthy sportsbook and I visited their site to find out about their casino. So, I clicked on the live chat feature. To my surprise they ask, except the email, both the username AND the password of a member for a live chat session to initiate..... I found this unacceptable because many security concerns arise.. I stated my position to the live chat representative and the answer was not logical at all... Here is the transcript :

Chat InformationPlease wait for a site operator to respond.
Chat InformationYou are now chatting with 'CS - Joseph'
CS - Joseph: Welcome to the Live Chat Support. How can I help you today?
giannis: Hello. I m not a member of your site yet. I have one question.
CS - Joseph: sure go ahead
giannis: But first i m amazed by the fact that you ask for a live chat session the username AND the password of a member...
giannis: don't you have any security concerns about this?
CS - Joseph: that is a security feature
giannis: security feature ? to give a password to all live chat representatives through an unsecure interface?
CS - Joseph: in order to prevent fraud and stole accounts
giannis: i do not understand it.. I m sorry.
CS - Joseph: Is there anything else I can do for you?
giannis: ok. anyway. I d like to know the software provider of your casino
CS - Joseph: the software is ours
    giannis: ok. thanks
CS - Joseph: we do not use a third party company
CS - Joseph: You are welcome!
CS - Joseph: Thank you for chatting. Please feel free to contact us at anytime! Good-bye.
    giannis: have a nice day
Anyway, I d like to point this out to people that may want to register there. After this experience, I surely do not join them...

it seems that a lot of sportsbooks ask for both username AND password. I do agree it doesn't seem very secure asking for this info and don't know why they do it.

i see your point but its the same when a casino wants your drivers license and credit card to be faxed to an overseas addy. or emailed. not everyone has encrypted email. gambling with gambling. lol.

Yeah this seems to be a common issue with sportsbooks. Anything related with MVP and Nine do this. Obviously to have CS seeing passwords as well as having them go across unsecure connections is a disaster waiting to happen.

I signed up to 888.com through an affiliates site which gave cashback.

However, to claim the cashback I was told I had to procide both the user name or account number (whichever is used) AND the password.

I questioned this and, like umberto above, they just didnt seem to understand there was even a problem in the first place.

Who runs their security department? Benny Hill ?
