    Corrupt?

    Tell me this is not corrupt;
    Grand hotel casinoolphins tale:
600+spins over £400 and not on the feature once
    highest win £6
No way on Earth does that machine have a payout of 95%+
    The wins are too infrequent
the payouts for wins far too low
    and the feature:
    ahahahhaha
    DO NOT PLAY THIS SLOT

    FEKIN SCANDALOUS

By the way this Casino only has email for support.

I don't think it is any different on any particular casino. I have brought this up to certain people and heard 'maybe the algorithm is faulty' (this from an operation that runs many MGS casinos).

I no longer play this game because I do not believe it to be a fair game. You would not want to know the amount of spins I had which resulted in NO feature. It was lot more than you mentioned.

    A real eye-opening thread ...

Are we seriously suggesting there is a game out there that might me faulty and none at the casino knowes / notices / cares?

I would have thought internal reporting by game would have shown this up.

The ONLY way you really can win anything on this slot is hitting the feature mode. I wrote this in my review last month. And even the feature mode does not pay that much really.

If you play 40 lines and hit 5 wild, this will only pay 75 times the bet size! So first of all never play 40 lines since you never really will have a big win then(big win > 500* bet size).

A huge amoung of the payout% (compared to other MG slots) from this slot comes from the feature mode.

So basically all that matters is how many times you hit the feature mode in the 600 spins. I believe the change for hitting the feature mode is close about 1/130.

So the expected number of times you should have hit it should have been 600/130~4.6. But because it is a low variance slot this would just have taken you close to the 95% payout these slots have. To get a decent win you needed to have hit it 8 times or so. This is probably as likely as not not hitting the feature once in 600 spins. (rough estimate)

600+ spins without a hitting the feature is not that rare. I have tried it 5 times at least (but on other slots. I do not like Dolphin Tale).

On low variance slot you are 'doomed' very fast which means you will be close to the 95% payout. Playing 40 lines on a low variance slot makes this even more true.

I made a MG slot simulator where you can change different parameters (number of lines) and then do some 'lifetime' simulations. The interesting factor is what your maximum bankroll was and when it happened. Run the simulation over and over to get an idea what to expect depending on the parameters.

I can't remember who suggested playing only 20 lines on the 40 line games, but I went and played the dolphins tale the other nite and hit the bonus round 3 times and made a few dollars on it for I was playing for 2 cents a line x 20 lines (instead of the 40 lines x 1 cent).

Thought how nice and figured I would go back and do it again, and once again, hit the bonus round two times playing the same way. Made over $200 on it both times...interesting...I will never play 40 lines again..thanks to who suggested this! That was last week and haven't been back since.

KK suggested the 20 line Dolphin Tale strategy
Seems a lot of people are having success playing this way!

    Woah!

Thanks all I just needed comforting
Many thanks Zoo for your usual in depth logical analysis.
Gave it one more try today and another 100+spins no feature hohhum.
I play 9 lines usualy but maybe if I ever play again I will try 20 lines.
Have no idea why I played it anyway as I was on a nice little run and I have never come close to winning on it in the past. Not only that it is just plain boring when you dont hit the feature.Infact all the new slots are pretty dull and offer nothing new.
I think it is time microgaming showed a little (lot) more imagination when creating future video slots. I am sure many of you have lots of ideas just like I do of features you would like to see incorporated into new slots. Maybe if I have the time I will code a couple of sample ideas and send them to anyone who is interested here.
By the way if you would like to play slots that have actualy existed in the real world (emulation not simulation) then try this site> Fruit-Emu (Fruit Machine Games and Arcade) - Welcome to Fruit-Emu

I have tried these. They are pretty good approximations to the older UK Pub style machines. Most use the code from original ROMs from the games, although the layouts differ slightly for the sake of looking good on the PC monitor.
They are free, but I would find it interesting to go that one step further and make these available in an online casino environment. They are far better than the efforts on Crypto sites. Non-UK players will find the choices bewildering compared with current offerings. A dozen or more feature games is common, compared with three at most for online video slots (and this is rare).

    agreed

I agree there is no reason why video slots which are far less limited than real slots should be so sterile.
By the way they do use the actual roms of the slots and you can download the original layouts and sounds with the vast majority of them.
Perhaps I should start a thread on whether people are satisfied with the current crop of video slots and if not what they would like to see introduced. I know casinos like Davincis Gold have I-slots but even these only offer a change of wallpaper rarther than a complete makeover.
