    Spam increase

I have noted a considerable increase in this Spam, including the Hi-Roller and other casino offers. I have never had dealings with Brightshare or CP though. There must be another route being used, at least in some cases, to get the email addresses.
I use 3 distinct addresses, one private, one for forum profiles, and one for the website. I have capacity for 12 more, but I don't want to have to keep changing them. I once made the mistake of using my private one on a forum, but I have since learned this is somewhat unwise.
I recently noticed a number of far more serious Spams advertising movie porn featuring "underage" action - advertised with the most offensive and direct language imaginable. These looked like they came along with the casino and penis products.

Full Sails - before we get raided ourselves.

Are these 'disposable' accounts? What they're doing is cycling though every combination out there trying to find valid email addresses. Once they do, they continue spamming them.

I'm surprised google and others haven't stopped this by now..it's quite easy.

    Clever sods!

Previously I was told that they could only validate an E-mail address as being real if the spam was replied to. Perhaps this is not so any longer, and they spam away if no "undeliverable" bounce message is received.

My private one is difficult to change as it would be the equivalent of moving house and needing to get all companies concerned to update their records. The other two are less valuable, and the remaining 12 slots can be filled. If they just cycle through all combinations it will not be long before they hit valid addresses again.

The problem with filters is that many legitimate e-mails get thrown out too, such as my bonus offers!

One thing to try would be to change each of your spam filters to reply with a "fake" bounce message to the sender instead of deleting it.

I haven't tried this, but it should work in theory.

Actually, scratch that. They don't use real reply-to addresses.

As soon as the server accepts the mail for that account, they know it's valid.

Did you know you can create a "whitelist" for mail you actually want? That supercedes all spam filters.
