Am I Paranoid
I started playing Mermaids Millions at (unnamed casino until I get an answer from them) about 2 months ago. I play for $3.75 a spin and in the time I was playing was down about $2000.00. I was not happy but that is gaming. Anyways, I happen to get lucky and won about $3900.00. Everything was normal until I won the $3900.00.
Right after that as I kept on playing the next few days I could not hit the 3 Scatters. They are not a Jackpot but they do give you a chance because you get $15.00 plus 10 free spin’s that pay triple. After a while without hitting them I was getting angry and decided to keep playing until I did hit them. To make a long story short I ended up spinning 810 times without getting them. That is spending $3037.50 and never hitting them. I of course didn’t lose that much because I did have some decent hits along the way but I still lost about $800. This was Microgaming software and have written a letter to them to see what they have to say. I will then contact the Casino. I for one can’t believe RNG software could be that out of whack. Is the casino able to control this until they recoup some money or is it just me being paranoid? Something seems wrong but if you have never played Mermaids Millions you may not understand the situation. I would appreciate some opinions good or bad. |

From what you say you still seem to be quite a bit ahead. How often do the scatters line up usually? It should just be bad luck that they haven't appeared for so long. Incidentally, there is someone doing well on the Loaded bonus slot at Trident Lounge coming from my site. He wagered over $200k from his $7k+ deposits and more than doubled his money last month. This month he's already wagered and deposited a similar amount and was up another $8k profit this month last time I checked.

You winning the $3900 was out of whack.
Your subsequent losses are the normal behavior of slot machines. |

I would say they probably would come up at least once within $200 of play, sometimes it may be $300 but there are times they come up 2-4 for in $200.
I cannot remember them never coming up within $300 and that is playing at many differant sites. Quote:

I'll try and explain it. From what you say there is about a 1% chance of it hitting on each spin (after 100 spins of 3.75 it will likely have happened at least once about two thirds of the time - i.e the chance of it not happening in 100 spins is .99^100 which is about 37%). The chances of it not happening after 800 spins is about 1 in 3000 (.99^800). This is nowhere near as unlikely to happen in your playing career as you will have probably spinned hundreds of thousands of times and in those spins it will be quite likely for a run like that to happen at least once.

the only way to stop that kind of bad luck streak is to set the auto-play for 200 spins and then run naked down your street screaming obscenities at the top of your lungs.......when or "if" you return, the free spins will be waiting.

I just tried again and went 355 spins without hitting them and kept playing and hit them and during the 3 free spins I hit them 2 more times for a total of 30 free spins, guess I am a little spastic. After all that broke even for the night.
Guess its time to remove my clothes and start running. |

Your last sentence has me a little confused, are you saying it was unlikely to happen but bound to eventuly happen in many thousands of spins.
I appreciate your knowledge and point of view. Quote:

i'm gonna try and explain hehe.
a run of 800 bad spins or whatever is statistically very unlikely, but over a zillion times such a run may occur as it's random. like flipping a coin, in 100 flips you probably won't get a run of 10 heads in a row but after 1000000 flips such a run might well have occurred at some point in the sequence. nothing stops the coin from falling the same way so many times in a row, but it's so unlikely you'd have to flip a long ass time to actually see it happen. like getting dealt a pat royal; not likely to happen on any given session but over 10000 sessions is very likely. have i done well? cheers evry1! |
