I deposited $200 into 888 Casino-on-Net, received my $200 bonus and played blackjack to clear the bonus. I also looked around and played a few others games a little. I got to $700 with the bonus cleared and then cashed out.
I live in Canada and used to my understanding a 'middle company' Citadel eCheck to instantly deposit the money from my account. 5 days after my withdraw I get an email saying my $200 deposit never cleared. They closed my account and basically told me I'm not getting my money and to screw off. This all seems absolutely ridiculous. If I had lost my $200 deposit I'm sure they would have still held me responsible to pay. A very important sidenote is this exact same thing happened when I deposited with 888 Pacific Poker through Citadel. When my deposit at Pacific Poker did not clear they gave me several options to pay. Which I promtly did via a wire transfer. After which they received the money and told me my account record was wiped clean. What should I do now? This amount of money is definitly worth pursing for me. What can I do now? Thanks |

Wish I could give you some good news, but I believe you are not going to prevail on this one. You say that they would hold you responsible to pay? Well they can't make you do that, and I doubt that even I would pay. I would suggest getting a firepay account to play there from now on (though I guess this won't be happening), that is really the only positive thing I can add, other than you aren't out any of your own money.... just time and effort. You need to understand that they aren't doing this to screw you, it is a necessary step to keep fraudsters from gaining by chargebacks and other crap. |

Could be casino BS/cover for their own errors.
Casinos should not jump to the conclusion that the customer is trying to pull a stunt. If it turns out to be an error by Citadel, or the casinos banking system, they should refund the customer the full withdrawal and an apology.
I have had trouble with Neteller, and the problem is down to Neteller and the communication links. Neteller and the casinos have admitted that the system is prone to these errors on occasion, but Neteller have more higher priority matters to attend to, preferring to fix these failed deposits manually. These Neteller problems, however, work the other way. Money vanishes from Neteller but does not make it to the casino. The player is given an error message which simply asks them to try the deposit again later. Sometimes this leads to the deposit going through twice. Well, how often have players posted that this has happened and they have ended up depositing twice or more for the bonus offered because of the misleading error message. Do the casinos refund the duplicate in these circumstances? In many cases NO! They insist the duplicate deposit must go on risk with the original. If they are happy to take advantage of players when there is a technical error, they should expect some players to take "revenge" when a screw-up goes in their favour for once. 888 should suspend the withdrawal until it has received the $200 by whatever means (to show the player did indeed have that amount to put at risk), and then pay the full withdrawal. It should then suspend Citadel and investigate what went wrong, and whether it is a general issue. Players can take steps to avoid this when depositing by methods that rely on delayed clearance, and that is to not play with the funds until the deposit clears their bank or firepay. This should give the casino no excuse for non-payment. Don't forget, 888 do NOT LIKE NETELLER, see their T & C, so why would players use it if they had an alternative that 888 seem to prefer. Given that this type of delayed clearance does not happen this way round with Neteller, I have to question why they discriminate against it in favour of more problematical deposit methods prone to chargeback fraud types.

Honestly, just open up a NETeller account. Don't bother with Firepay because they don't serve Canadian customers. Just be aware that deposits from your bank account to your NETeller account will sit in a Pending state for several days longer than they really need to (this is how they entice you to use InstaCash). For example, you make a deposit on Monday, the funds are deducted from your bank account on Tuesday, but they will not clear NETeller until the following Monday or Tuesday. And if you make InstaCash deposits (which work the same way as Citadel does - on the honor system), the amount of money you can withdraw from your NETeller account back into your bank account will be reduced by the sum of the pending InstaCash deposits. |

Well I am very glad to say that matter has been resolved. Sorry I could not reply earlier, but I was told I was not allowed to post any details until the matter was resolved. I am very happy, I will be receiving my $700 thanks to Casino-on-Net (figure they deserve another mention after my bashing of them).
Thankyou very much to Casinomeister for refering me to Tex Reese |

Just out of curiousity what do casinos do if a payment were stopped?
I'd imagine they'd raise a shitstorm with the company that the payment was stopped from. |
