    Nostalgia Casino Complaint - resolved

People, don't even think about opening an account with Nostalgia Casino. Ever.

It has taken me all week and a great deal of frustration and aggravation to get this casino to refund my money. They even went as low as to lie to me online.

Most of all, they attempted to use some pretty sleazy tactics I had not encountered before. I just want to make sure I pass along two or three invaluable lessons I learned. Take heed and listen if you want. If not, fine and good luck if you get stung.

Lesson 1. Do NOT, under any circumstances, take any casino's bonus offer! Let me just give you the two best reasons in the world - wagering requirements and game exclusions. If you don't know what I mean by either of these, you haven't been online long or paying careful attention to what has been happening with the so called "free money" bonuses casinos like to lure you in with.

Lesson 2. DOknow what group the casino is part of, their support number(s), and whether or not they are a member of the Online Player's Association (OPA), eCOGRA (one of the few and very best organizations and player resources that will stick up for you and try to help), or the Interactive Gaming Council (IGC). At this date, these three organizations are the only three I am aware of that are truly legitimate, have clout, and will intervene on your behalf IF you have legitimate complaint.

Lesson 3. DO join one or more player forums to keep up on what's happening. The forum you are a member of here is one of the best, some would say the best.

Oh, and before I forget. Lesson 4. Be paranoid. Seriously. Watch your back, leave nothing to chance, and make damn sure you record everything from the moment you login to a casino and place your first bet. What casino you played at. What time you started. What game you played. When you ended. How much you wagered. Your ending credit balance in your account and any profit/loss you had. Don't do these things and learn the hard way, my friends. And you will if you don't.

    Good luck to all.

Thank you for the tips. Newbies will stand to benefit from your advice. However, do you mind sharing with us what happened at Nostalgia to warrant such a reaction from you?

Good tips, but you can't just post such an accusation about a reputable casino without providing some details of the complaint.

This is the single stupidest thing I've read all week. I didn't bother reading the rest.

    Barely Worth Replying To

Hey bpb, you're the most ignorant asshole I've ever read in any forum. How the hell did you ever get to be a Senior Member on this forum. Talk about no standards.

Well, bright bulb, do you even know what the **** a wagering or playthrough requirement is? Are you sure? I don't think so.

Do you know what game exclusions mean? Really. Explain it to me and the other members.

Hey, stupid, I wouldn't ever waste any words or time with the boring, factual details of how the casino's bonus Terms and Conditions are a ripoff and a total waste of time. You obviously know that already and aren't about to change your highly "educated" opinion any time, soon.

Once again, with your smarts and attitude, I can't believe ANY forum would allow you to become a Senior Member. What a damn shame.

I know what all of these are or mean ... I can even try to explain them to you, but I get the feeling that you were being facetious and/or sarcastic when you asked for an "explanation."

Though I don't agree with calling your #1 "stupid", as well as not agreeing with your response to it, I would also like to know specifics as to why you condemn bonuses. Spending a little time and energy to understand how online casino bonuses work is definitely needed before you accept one for wagering.

Bonus hunting can be very profitable, but that's just my (oft-repeated) opinion.
I don't abuse bonuses, I just shake the sh!t out of 'em!

Whereas your tactic of posting an inflamatory complaint against a casino without providing any background, reasoning or indeed facts, followed by a virile attack on, in your own words, a forum Senior Member, is entirely sensible, reasonable and above all constructive in getting your problems resolved.

    Good job!

    To TheBloke and bpb

    How about the facts?

On 6/21/06, I made a $50.00 NETeller deposit to open up an account with Nostalgia Casino. I printed both the confirmation receipts from NETeller and Nostalgia Casino as soon as I received them:

    6/21/2006 7:54 PM
Thank you for making a purchase with Nostaliga Casino.

A transaction has been received to account number Nosrxxxxx for the following amount:

    Transaction Amount Date/Time Source Status

    1486303 50.00 21/06/2006 7:30:33 PM NETeller ACCEPTED

On 6/22/2006, the casino sent me this email:

    6/22/2006 8:30 PM
Thank you for contacting Nostalgia Casino.

We do have a withdrawal pending for you in the amount of $50.00, this will be processed in the next 24 - 48 hours, so I am unsure of your question?

Please do not hesitate in contacting us if you have any further questions or comments. The tracking number for this issue is LTK6xxxxxX.

    Wendy

    Nostalgia Casino Support

The question, by the way, was how long it would take for the casino to finish processing my withdrawal request.

On 6/23/06, this is what I heard from Nostalgia Casino:

    6/23/2006 12:24 AM
Thank you for playing with Nostaliga Casino.

You have made a withdrawal from account number Nosrxxxxx for the following amount:

    Transaction Amount Date/Time

    65931 50.00 23/06/2006 12:01:03 AM

At nearly midnight last night, on 6/23/06, I checked my NETeller account and still did not see any sign of my $50.00. Early yesterday morning, I went online and logged in to the Live Chat feature at Nostalgia Casino. I asked what was happening with my withdrawal request and money. The casino representative I was chatting with, Jhoanna, replied by asking me for my account information so she could look at the details. I gave her them, and then she comes back and says I was not going to receive my $50.00 until I meet the casino's "playthrough requirements."

Now, bpb, I doubt you'll be able to follow the rest of this, but TheBloke - I have hope for you.

Jhoanna, I said, either you are looking at a screen with my account details on it that has been tampered with or you are outright lying to me. I had NO playthrough requirements to meet because I NEVER received any bonus and did not play with a dime of the casino's money!!

When I logged on after opening my account with Nostalgia Casino, on 6/21/06, I only played ten hands of European Blackjack. That's right, people. Ten hands. I know and recorded what game I played, how many hands I played, my beginning account (credit) balance of $50.00, and my ending balance when I logged out of the games lobby.

Now, is anybody here good at math? Maybe I'm not.

I open a casino account with $50.00 of my own money.
I play Blackjack starting with that same $50.00 as a beginning balance.
I receive NO matching bonus of ANY kind at any point from the casino while I am playing.
I decide to quit and do when my account credit balance is $50.00. That's right. I played for about half an hour and wound up dead even. Not a dollar gained or lost.
I make a "successful" (casino's own word) withdrawal request for $50.00. That brings my account credit balance to $0.00.

So, for all you math majors:

    $50.00 Original deposit
    -50.00 Withdrawal request
$ 0.00 Account balance left when I decide not to play at casino again

Now, does anybody, and I mean anybody, see any sign or proof of any casino bonus of any kind in the email messages or figures above?

Jhoanna refuses to agree or cooperate with me, so I log off after telling her in no uncertain terms that I think her casino is run by liars and crooks.

The rest of yesterday and today I spend part of the time quickly sending all the necessary information and facts to the following three parties:

    1) NETeller - this is the 3rd party company that I have made
my original deposit through and have asked to have my withdrawal
    credited to,

    2) eCOGRA - this is the organization that actually lists
Nostalgia Casino as a member (I am pretty amazed and still am), is
influential or effective in mediating player disputes with casinos, and
is highly regarded in the industry, and

    3) the Kahnawake Gaming Commission - this is the organization
that actually granted Nostalgia Casino their operating license and
    regulates them.

Three times tonight, I receive email messages from Nostalgia Casino. Here they are:

    6:48 PM

    Dear Craig,

Thank you for contacting Nostalgia Casino.

I'm just emailing you to let you know that your withdrawal for $50 should be processed without issue today.

Please do not hesitate in contacting us if you have any further questions or comments. The tracking number for this issue is LTK6xxxxxX.

    8:06 PM

    Dear Craig,

Thank you for contacting Nostalgia Casino.

Well, I'll be dammed!! TheBloke and bpb, did you keep track of the evidence and facts?? Which side did the facts line up with?

I can't speak and don't know about any of the rest of you, but I don't like and won't stand being lied to, intentionally mislead, or most of all - have any "reputable" casino anywhere steal my money.

TheBloke - satisfied? Don't care if you are.

bpb- only one thing to say to you, moron:

So let's see if I have this straight:
    • You deposit, play, withdraw without getting a bonus.
    • You speak to Jhoanna, who incorrectly informs you that you are still liable for the bonus terms - clearly an error, given you received no bonus
    • After calling her a crook and a liar, you discontinue contact with the casino and instead contact Neteller, eCogra and Kahwanake to complain.
    • You then receive three emails today from Nostalgia informing you that your cashout will be processed today no problem
    • You come on here and lambast the casino for this.

Well. Firstly, I concur with bpb.

Secondly, did it not occur to you that perhaps Jhoanna was merely incorrect, and perhaps you should either telephone or email support in order to get it resolved by someone higher up?

Finally, given that your complaint appears to have been addressed in full (they have contacted you three times today to say it will be processed), what precisely is the current problem? Your original post suggested a tale of gross mismanagement, staggering incompetance and outright theft. It appears in fact to be nothing more than a mild misunderstanding, resolved immediately following your heavy-handed complaint spree.

I fear for the safety of your neighbourhood if this is your reaction to something so trivial. Do you write to Head Office every time a shopkeeper gives you the wrong change? If your phone company were to send you an incorrect bill, would you write to your congressman?

If you are so thin-skinned I suggest you do not play at any more online casinos. Even the most reputable, reliable and efficient of them will never be able to satisfy you.

You are so out of line Boomer, it's beyond belief. I read your posts in the other thread, and it's no wonder that people took exception with it. You posted a complaint about a casino, but provided absolutely zero details. You had a total (at that time) of 3 posts on this forum, but decided you were going to give everyone a tutorial re: online casinos, bonuses, eCOGRA, etc. Then, when basically told that you should have actually posted what your complaint was about, you proceeded to call people assholes and morons, and insinuate that no one here knows anything about how these things work.

Let me assure you that anyone who frequents (and actually reads) this forum on a regular basis knows exactly what wagering requirements, playthrough, and excluded games mean. There was no need for you to post as if no one here had ever played at an online casino before, like you were telling us something we didn't know. We are also all quite familiar with eCOGRA and with the Kahnawake Gaming Commission, and if you'd taken the time to read anything here, or even just browse the forum, you would have seen that eCOGRA even has a thread dedicated to it.

Your whole attitude has been condescending, like a teacher speaking to a room full of kindergarten children. Not a real great attitude for someone who is not a regular member here....hell, it's not a great attitude for a long standing member. And maybe if you'd bother to read the posting rules at the top of the forum, you would have realized that calling people morons and assholes isn't a great way to ingratiate yourself. Maybe you'd like to start over?
