There's been a few complaints that this happens even during autospin, or when making bigger bets, so that players end up below the max cashout.
It would be fine if at the same time it froze your play and sent you to the cashier to withdraw. I don't see why they worry about comps. I have heard that they can set the systems so that play on free chips doesn't earn comps, and in any case, the rate of comps is low in most cases, so hardly makes a difference.
Given how operators go on about wanting us to play "for entertainment" rather than trying to beat the house, I would have thought they would have LOVED the idea of players "entertaining themselves" further by playing down to the max cashout, rather than withdrawing and redepositing to claim another bonus.
It seems that as soon as they can't make any more money out of you, they want you off the premises ASAP to make room for a customer who is playing to win, and who will probably lose, rather than have the server clogged up with players spending hours playing down to max cashout.
I understand RTG have removed the "fun mode" facilty from the software (from a couple of forum posts), perhaps another move to kick "freeloaders" off the server who take up bandwidth.
