    Newbie Online Gambler Problem

Scroll down until you see a if u don't want to read and get straight to the point.

First of all, I need to introduce myself. I gamble from time-to-time, for little change (I barely bet more than $15), sometimes at a casino, once at a party, when given the chance. I am like most people out there that use a computer. I started out with simple solitaire. Then I got bored and stopped solitaire. I go online and some cards in a banner get my attention. I click. I was then able to play poker online for play money. Then I got into the casino games I had on my phone... and got me into playing more casino games online, still for play money and points .

How many people do you know are in the situation above?

That is where most people I know are.

This time, I try to play online. I come home from a Vegas trip, which peaked my interest, and searched for some live dealer games online. Looks like the only one available in the US.

OK, I'll sign up and play for real money. This should be fun!

I think I know what I'm getting myself into. I've prepared to lose some money. I tried out the Play Money portion on the site. Looks fun, exciting. I call them up to make a deposit of $50.00.

I get someone on the phone, who asks me for my account number and password, a little unusual for a live person to ask for my password, but why not? This is just a game that I get to play online for real money. I know there are fees when I withdraw my money, and I'm okay with that. Then the customer service representative asks how much. "$50.00" I tell her. I get a 150% credit if I bet at least $100.00 She tells me about a Bonus. I can play with a 20 times rollover with a 40 times cashout.

This is what she tells me. Hmmm, I think: What a great deal for someone who will bet only $1-$10 a hand! Remember, this is my first time playing. I talked to someone rather than read the site because, well, I wanted a clear explanation, and making a deposit was faster. That is all she tells me, and I think the word promo. Draw more people in. Even if I win, it's only an online casino, so I won't win a lot.

Reminder: I never bet online before.

So I think: I have to meet the requirement bet 20 times to get the credit, and bet 40 times to be able to cashout. Good deal. I'll bet $10 a hand anyway, money is sure to go into their pocket, unless I get lucky. That's probably how they make their money.

I lose more than $600. I try again, and make 2 deposits, of $100 and $50. I keep on playing. I take the bonus again on the $100, and am told that I won't have a problem getting the money. So I have $300 again ($50 from a different source). I play again, try out the different card games on the site, and get tired.

You probably know what's the problem. I call them up, and have them explain the reason I can't get a payout. I won't last long with their current format compared to other online casinos that deal real cards in a real casino. Just doesn't feel enjoyable. The video is small. The system has lag issues. After every reshuffle, the bets freeze. The cards are not standard, and they don't do a regular shuffle. On top of that, they change their payout fees without notification.

Now I can't get a payout for the remaining balance until I bet up to $10,000. I'm not even asking for the $50.00.

Because of some customer service reps, I'm stuck. I'm new. First two online gaming experience. And a casino manager more irate than me.

Is there something or someone in this site that can help me with to get my payout? And because of this, I'll just stick with "real" Vegas.

first, what is the name of the casino? Is it accredited on this site? If it is not, then you are probably out of luck. Let us know what casino you deposited at, that will definetely tell us right off the bat, if you will have problems getting a payout or not!!

They didn't tell me exactly how the Bonus works. Couldn't they just say... you can get your payout after you bet up to $5,000?

Anyway, everyone knows what casino I'm talking about. There are not that many online casinos that has live dealers in the US.

Sorry. I signed up with Bogart Casino, but was able to log into BetPhoenix with the exact same login information. Also, the online dealers are the same. So I guess BetPhoenix.

No live games at Bet Phoenix.

Christian, if you deposit far more than you planned, take bonuses without understanding the rules, then maybe online gambling is not for you.

Also, rollover is usually expressed in terms of slots or equivalent. Many table games (if allowed) only pay a percentage, often 2% for blackjack.

Talk with CS, (I suggest livechat or email so you have a record), find out what you need to do to fulfill wagering and do your best to meet it.

If you just got bored, well, try the slots (if allowed). They almost always count 100% and you might get lucky.

Or remain bored and grind it out on blackjack if you can.

I'm not aware that BetPhoenix and Bodog are associated in any way. Did you have a night you just signed up at a bunch of stuff with same log in info?

No live games?? BetPhoenix and Bodog?? I said BetPhoenix and Bogart.

I played for fun. How do you play for fun when bonuses work that way?

I guess this is why not that many people won't get into playing online for real money.

And what choice do I have but to keep playing if they don't give me my payout? <--- Another problem that a lot of people have.
