Forget the bonus. If I were you, I would withdraw as fast as I can. Actually, even if you do get the bonus and win, it would be a horrendous exercise getting your winnings from this casino.

I have to agree - these African Palace guys have been creating hassles for players for years, and there does not seem to be any change in the way they do business.

I wonder whether that big progressive winner of theirs has received further instalment payments on her jackpot - that story seems to have faded recently.

I spotted that. It reads as though they reached an agreement, but then found they could no longer pay as per agreement, and were trying to work something out.

The problem here is that African Palace HAD THE MONEY, and IN FULL from Playtech, SO WHERE IS IT, there should have been no problem at all in continuing to pay the instalments.

The only explanation I can see is that they used the money within their business as operating capital, whereas it should have been set aside to pay the installments. Something went wrong with their calculations, and they found themselves unable to replace the money they had "borrowed" from the progressive payout in time to pay further instalments. It was because this player ignored the casino and went to the press that we are even hearing about this.

I believe this casino is at high risk of "going bust" if it has to start using monies it is holding in trust for players to keep itself running.

If the publicity forces it to keep paying this player, it will have to find the money from somewhere else, perhaps by holding up smaller withdrawals from many players, which would not get into the mainstream media.

The bonus seems very large, not in percentage terms, but in terms of the max deposit you can make. It is likely to be designed so that they don't have to pay very many winners from it, and maybe they just are not interested in a mere $30 - they are after bigger amounts.

There are a small number of accredited Playtech casinos here, and they should offer a decent bonus for $30 (if you can get it back).

    Statement from African Palace Casino

The African Palace casino management would like to respond to the statements made on the Casinomeister blog on the 12th July 2009, in particular the comments submitted by Vinyl Weatherman, as follows: “The problem here is that African Palace HAD THE MONEY, and IN FULL from Playtech, SO WHERE IS IT, there should have been no problem at all in continuing to pay the instalments. The only explanation I can see is that they used the money within their business as operating capital, whereas it should have been set aside to pay the instalments. Something went wrong with their calculations, and they found themselves unable to replace the money they had "borrowed" from the progressive payout in time to pay further instalments. It was because this player ignored the casino and went to the press that we are even hearing about this. I believe this casino is at high risk of "going bust" if it has to start using monies it is holding in trust for players to keep itself running”

Any delays experienced by the player in relation to the jackpot payout was due to circumstances beyond the control of African Palace and the reasons for such can only be disclosed by the player. The hold up was not due to cash flow problems as alleged by Vinyl Weatherman and his statement that the casino is “at high risk of going bust” is completely unfounded and incorrect. The Playtech portion of the progressive jackpot payout was never at any time utilised for any operational costs and was never used for any reason whatsoever other than the payout of the said jackpot to the player.

While we appreciate that the bloggers on the Casinomeister forum are not restricted in commenting on various issues, the statement from Vinyl Weatherman was entirely false and without substantiation.

With regards to the outstanding bonus amount due to Zapotek, our Customer Services department is more than willing to assist with tracing the matter through his account. We would like to recommend that Zapotec contact support@africanpalacecasino.com, marked for the attention of Clyde, Blake or Noeleen for personal assistance in this regard.

It gets more confusing. From the statement it would seem that Playtech is only paying for part of the Progressive JP so where is the rest of the JP coming from?

If the full JP cannot be paid to the player surely a disclosure of some sort can be made here. How is it possible that it can only be made privy to the player and that only he himself can disclose it? If details cannot be published how about a generalisation? It seems you are disturbed by VWM's statement. The negative image that African Palace has portrayed came about after many poor player experiences.

    Hi Kiara,

Thanks for joining our forum. I've given added you to the i-gaming user group.

Just an admin note: VWM was speculating - not making "entirely false and without substantiation" allegations. That's courtroom lingo - and these are players having a discussion.

    It's a forum not a blog.

I'm one of those. I'm waiting my payment since March.
Well, to be honest, 10 days ago they split my payment in 2 parts and processed one of them (the other one is still in "waiting" status).

    disclosing the facts=end of speculation

My best guess is that the "Playtech portion" is (jackpot amount - jackpot seed). Thus the casino would be responsible for an amount equivalent to the jackpot seed.
